70. Day 23: Expectations, 31 Days to Enhanced Self-Esteem
Description
Today we're diving deep into expectations and their impact on our self-esteem.
Last week, I had the chance to record an episode for my friend’s podcast and while the conversation itself was amazing, the lead-up wasn't exactly smooth sailing. It got me thinking about how expectations, particularly those we place on ourselves, can either lift us up or completely derail us.
In this episode, I share my own experience of juggling expectations: trying to prepare for something completely outside my comfort zone, expecting both success and failure at the same time, and how it all played out. Spoiler alert: when I let go of those negative expectations and embraced trust, I showed up fully. And the result was an improved self-esteem.
We’ll explore how these hidden expectations can sabotage us and, more importantly, how to shift our thinking to create a more positive outcome. Tune in as we break down the role expectations play in our self-esteem, and how to choose a different path when they try to hold us back.
