My favorite podcast of all times
I love history and hold the opinion that if you don't learn from it you are bound to repeat it (not my original idea of course). So when I was looking for a good podcast for my long runs as I train (rather than wasting my time listening to music) this podcast came up and I have it a shot. I actually didn't start with the first one. Just wanted to get a flavor. And ...I got hooked. Its a phenomenal opportunity to refresh my memory and learn a few new tidbits. Carl is such a knowledgeable source and a great presenter that the miles I ran pass by without note. The fact that I can listen to a few without needing to touch the phone is perfect. I love it and recommends while heartedly. AND, also, since this seems to be a labor of love, if you like it go and donate at Carl's site. This way he is encouraged to bring us more of these awesomeness 😁Read full review »

More reviews of A History of Europe, Key Battles
I have found this series quite addictive. It is well researched, thoughtfully presented, flows logically and above all is interesting and informative. I look forward to the next 850 years worth!

The podcast uses key battles as touch points to move through time, but concentrates on the political, social and economic stories in the build up to the battle then looks at why the battle had an influence. Very well done.
