Nope.
I was hopeful that this podcast would surprise me, I gave it a try and sat through many cringe-worthy moments. First, being affiliated with Noom does not help the case. Talking about going down a pants size is actually promoting diet culture and can be extremely harmful to what I THINK the message of this podcast is intended to be. I’m actually not sure though. I think the intention is to reduce the rigidity around food. Unfortunately, it seems like the hosts need to dig a bit deeper on topics of weight stigma and thin privilege for themselves before this podcast goes further. They haven’t even mentioned those things and I’ve listened to all of the episodes. In order to talk about a healthy relationship with food and bodies, talking about weight stigma and fatphobia should be a the forefront. There are many dietitians and therapists in the Boston area who could certainly shed light on this as they practice from a health at every size perspective that is imperative to healing someone’s relationship with food.

More reviews of Food, We Need To Talk
Hearing Noom as a sponsor for this podcast is horrible. ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ is just another sneaky disguise for diets. Categorizing food = diet. A podcast about diets not working and yet promoting a diet...Very confusing messages.

I love the topics this podcast tackles and the scientific, informed perspective it brings to the area of health/wellness and even “dieting”, delivered in a light and humorous way. I am particularly drawn to their focus on health as a set of lifestyle choices, not a constant struggle with dieting....Read full review »
