Kirsty Wark — seriously? This latest appointment reveals how little respect the BBC has for the arts. I’m so tired of BBC shows replacing people with serious expertise in their field with random “name” presenters. What does Wark know about the arts? Nothing, if her first shows are anything to go...Read full review »

I want to love this podcast but the host keeps talking over the top of the guests - in the episode reviewing the film Blonde he is extremely rude and never lets the female guest finish her sentence - it’s so annoying and distracting from the otherwise interesting content.

This is a fabulous podcast for anyone who loves movies, literature, poetry, drama and the visual arts. Try this for movie criticism, what's new in music, all the prize-winners you could ever want, interviews with great writers and artists, and all with the BBC's expected elan. The...Read full review »

Although I rarely go to a theatre, it’s nice to have a wonderful word of mouth or a second opinion on shows. It’s good to have an arts show for books and theatre, to see what’s out there.

Good cultural review show, particularly so when Tom Sutcliffe is in the host's chair. He is so engaged and seems to be enjoying himself, and that is delightful.Read full review »

This podcast is always brilliant when it comes to keeping me up to date with what i need to know in the arts. Such a fine example of everything that makes the BBC brilliant. It's not too high brow and always seems to find the right balance on what to report on. Can't recommend enough of...Read full review »

Thanks for this interesting episode. I have a pot of Shoji Hamada which he gave to my father. It’s on my bookshelf. The Japan Folk Craft Museum has a beautiful collection of Leach pottery. The connection between British and Japanese seems to have extended over many years. Issey Miyake used...Read full review »

My day is not complete without Front Row.. I especially enjoy listening to Samira Ahmed. Such a beautiful voice.

Cutting Eliza in mid-sentence like that is disgraceful. She was voicing something absolutely critical.

Front Row keeps me up-to-date with crucial shifts in arts and culture. I’ve listened to it religiously since 2003 and now I’m Australia it is a vital lifeline to my awareness of ‘what’s on’ in the rest of the world. I really enjoy Samira Ahmed’s critical conversations with artists and Kirsty...Read full review »

Not sure who “Jack Lowther” is but they’re not the lead in The End of the F***ing World. Otherwise, enjoyed the review.

I always enjoy the subject matter and Stig particularly. This is not to say I don’t tune in to the other presenters but I like Stig’s style. I’m an Australian listener so right out of left field really.

Frankly this show/podcast has never been the same since Mark Lawson left. Seriously. I’m not sure how much creative power he had on the show but I don’t think he was *just* a presenter. I don’t believe the allegations of bullying against him. I imagine he knew how to make a good show and perhaps...Read full review »

They cover a wide variety from theater to TV to art museums to books, sometimes the interviews are with creators/actors authors and sometimes with critics but there’s always something interesting.

Ultra left wing political views interfere with reviews. Elitists just cannot help but offend a large swath of people. I will download different podcasts thank you.

I’m getting big close to deleting all the BBC podcasts I’ve listened to for years as the absolutely inane and repetitive ads are driving me crazy. Please stop them. It ruins Front Row and all the other podcasts that I’m about t unsubscribe from!

This is my go to podcast anytime I’m walking somewhere. How exciting to hear this excellent half hour with Cleo. Many years ago she, with her brilliantly talented husband, performed in New Zealand, an evening never forgotten. It is a delight to have such a well presented interview to keep! One of the best, thank you.

Front Row is a wonderful show which gives a platform to a whole range of Arts discussion. But...I can’t help but feel that they try and pack too much content into too little time. Radio 4 should have been cleaning up the Podcast arena for some time now if they had taken the plunge and submitted more of their huge, excellent pantheon of material from their arts programmes a little sooner. We should all hope that more is to follow.
