I have probably been listening to your show(off and on) for roughly about 2 1/2 years - which is when first starting running D

I have been writing my own homebrew campaign as my GM debut. I have never played, much less been a GM/DM but I want to dive in head first. I’m on episode 50 and powering through every episode! You speak very clearly about the points you want to make and keep things entertaining while also...Read full review »

Really like the read throughs of the PHB and DMG. I think we care about different things (I care about campaign building instead of world building) but overall, has lots of useful advice. If you are new or less new to DMing, I would say check it out.

Lex is very knowledgeable about RPGs and being a GM. He gives great advice for new GMs. The actual play segments are creative and interesting. If you have a question, if you contact Lex, he actually responds. The supplements he sells are informative and fun also.

This guy is awesome at actual play. Yet his take on supplements is sublime. Ready to see his personal supplements on items come to fruition.

Game Master’s Journey is an excellent source of inspiration and ideas for designing worlds and campaigns in Dungeons and Dragons. Lex Starwalker has a consistently well thought out approach to game mastering, and lots of useful information in his deep dives into the Dungeon Master’s Guide,...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to Lex for a while. His shows are always polished, near perfect audio, and he knows what he is talking about when it comes to role playing. You don’t have to be a D&D player to learn something. We’ve had a similar role playing experience and longevity and I always learn...Read full review »

I am enjoying the podcast's series on West Marches campaigns. What really detracts is the preamble at the start. Every episode has 15-20mins of waffle about Patreons, buying T-Shirts and other filler. I also hate the trance music.Read full review »

I've been listening to this show for a while now and it's been my favorite podcast for some time. I've especially enjoyed the insightful looks into Lex's thought process as he designed his homebrew word of Primordia. My only issue is that at the times I find myself disagreeing...Read full review »

I listened to this podcast while I was transitioning from 4E to 5E. I was driving from Madison WI. To New Orleans LA and Lex was the perfect companion. As a veteran D&D DM of 25 years, I spent a lot of time perusing the internet to find a podcast for my relatively short work commute that was consistently engaging and got me thinking about the game in new ways. This is the best podcast for DMs you will find. The audio quality is fantastic and the content quality is as good as it gets. Give it a listen if you have any interest on DM your own games as well as Worldbuilding.

Sometimes can take up 19 minutes to actually get to the topic. Spends way too much time thanking everyone over and over during intros. Also could definitely stop repeating same points over for minutes at a time. Aside from that, information is good.

After a 20 year hiatus on gaming I started back about 9 months ago and am loving it again. I found Lex's podcast by accident a couple of months ago and it was sweet serendipity.
