Bad attempts at humor and sexualizing ruins effort
After listening to a half dozen episodes, the host and writers are perhaps well meaning, but the show suffers from over-polished writing, unfunny puns, and is apparently organized around a syndicated sitcom formula of 1. start with joke bit, 2. mention joke bit again in the middle, and 3. end with same joke bit, as if we forgot. The double entendres and bizarre sexualizing is quite distracting and the one thing in the program I wish was "quick and dirty." In episode 51, the host actually mutters the following: "What could possibly motivate a man who erects tall skyscrapers that thrust above Manhattan with his name circling the tip?" Of course, that episode's title is "Assume Your Position" so I guess we had that "coming." The show should be called "Get-It-Done Gay." (Not that there's anything wrong with that).Read full review »
