Plato, giraffes and Buster Keaton
Peter, thank you for such an informative and interesting podcast ! After catching you on ABC Radio National's The Philosopher's Zone with Alan Saunders (also essential listening for philosophy fans !!) I had to seek out your own podcast as your wit and wisdom won me over I tremendously enjoy the depth of knowledge you present, and enjoy even more the subtle flashes of whimsy with which you illustrate philosophical concepts. Are giraffes made of atoms ? Who could argue Charlie Chaplin is a better comedian than Buster Keaton ? This is showcased best in the end of show segues, in which nest episode's topic is introduced with sly humour. I feel I distinctly lack atoraxia when I choose to not tune into each episode of the History of Philosophy....With Any Gaps !Read full review »

Please keep up the good work! This podcast is definitely in the same league as History of Rome and In Our Time. I'm always happy to see a new episode is available.Read full review »

These lectures are excellent - interesting and thought provoking. Just the right amount of detail and just the right length. A real gift.
