Every episode guarantees me an actual outburst of laughter. As an Angelino living abroad, LA Meekly quells my bouts of homesickness.

This podcast should be dry and boring, but its not! Strangely, it’s one of the most entertaining podcasts I listen to, a perfect mix of historical intrigue and niche comedic banter. 10/10 No notes.

With 7 of the 15 LA Council Members disgraced over a 3 year period this show has never been more welcome. These guys are amazed amused and appalled as they lay out the history and urban legends (i.e. a dragon living in Griffith Park) of a city they know well. Frequently what they turn up during...Read full review »

Love learning more about the history of LA. Have lived here most of my life and didn’t know most of the information I learned in this podcast. Highly recommend!

And just wanted to correct one thing - “laowai” is basically just foreigner, “gweilo” is more similar to the “white ghost” connotation, though it still doesn’t really specify whiteness though often used toward white foreigners

My love and knowledge about my home, Los Angeles, has grown SO much since moving away to San Diego and I owe most of that to Daniel and Greg. I find myself recognizing names like Helen liu Fong or knowing what ARCO stands for and asking myself “wait how do I know that?”- the answer is usually LA...Read full review »

Funny podcasters talking about L.A., the greatest city of all time. they could improve on accuracy a bit- especially in regards to Chicano art history and Día de Los Muertos in L.A., which they credit Asco for and not Self Help Graphics.

Since I just started listening a few months ago I am listening to all their previous episodes and having the time of my life. I grew up in LA but now live in San Diego. Sometimes I wish I still lived in LA to visit the sites they talk about. I listen an episode everyday.

As someone originally from LA, this podcast caught my eye. I’m so glad I listened! Greg and Daniel have great chemistry, are hilarious, and have done their research to bring a wide variety of topics. I loved the episode about the Terminator movies! Subscribed

I started listening to L.A. Meekly long before I moved to LA. At my dead end corporate office job in South Dakota their silly humor & informative history of all things LA got me through many a rough day and excited me for our move to the City of Angels. Don’t hate me Daniel and Greg, but the intros are always weird, like listening to your younger pre-pubescent brother hanging out with his friend, it almost turned me off to this podcast when I first heard it, but I really wanted to know LA History so I continued to listen. Putting aside the humor and how much fun they’re obviously having, you’ll be amazed by the amazing stories and anecdotes behind all things Los Angeles. A real labor of love and a great way to spend a very unique 90 minutes.

Consistently makes me actually laugh audibly. One notable occasion, listening to a section about Faulkner, I laughed so hard my dentist had to stop and see if I was okay. 5/5 would do again.
