I read enjoyed your S2, it was interesting, well researched and produced. Regarding your ending words, I had a thought. More of a question. You said that it’s your belief that the only thing Fred wasn’t lying about was the love for his daughters… I wonder, does a father really love his children...Read full review »

The story starts off with a boating accident & unfortunately a number of conversations sound like they’re under water. Good story, annoying sound.

Top Shelf! Thank you! Love the delivery, episodes, narration, spot on! I’m hooked!☘️

The cases are intriguing and the research well done. The fillers of gossip, innuendo, supposition and guesswork override the true crime narrative.

This is the best crime podcast I’ve listened to in a very long time. I am a genre aficionado and a former reporter — and believe me when I tell you Dana Goodyear is a such a talent. She offers insight and works with the family in a sensitive yet unbiased manner. She reminds me a bit of David...Read full review »

After a few episodes, I had to skip Season 1. Cece and a psychic palm reader? Just no. Would have held my interest if the show stuck to the crimes. Season 2 was really interesting and a true crime story that I had never heard before.

This show is a combination of misjudgment, opinions, poor reporting, gossip, lies backed up with unreliable snips of information and journalism. I gave up on the 2nd episode.

Starts well, way too much time spent with wack jobs and doing stuff that ends up nowhere, in need of a lot of editing. Soooo much conjecture, soooo much rumination and navel gazing, later episodes feel circuitous and pointless to the point it insults the victims in its reach to either exonerate...Read full review »

Im so glad i stumbled across this one. This is very well done, very intriguing story, great narrator, nice easy voice. Some of the recordings were a bit hard too to understand but not the shows fault. Well done!

Dana is AMAZING. some people just have the gift, great presence, and she does.

Dana Goodyear is a first-rate podcast host. Her voice and narration are excellent and she sticks to the story and doesn’t add any cutesy stuff. I would like to be on a mailing list to be notified of any other productions she hosts, past or future.

When the journalist forfeits her objectivity the podcast just becomes copaganda. I think it’s incredibly cruel to this man’s family to interview them and use them as resources when you’re not being objective.

Just listened to season 2. I thought the reporting, format, editing was great… the op-ed portion, with very little in the way of fact but only her “feeling” (in fact, seems the majority of the “evidence” presented left more questions about guilt than answers) was incredibly disappointing and (in...Read full review »

Mostly well done, presenting all the theories and their strengths and flaws, until the last episode, when the host for some reason lays out her own conclusions, which seem to rest on very little evidence or logic. Disappointing and cringeworthy ending to an otherwise interesting story. Extra...Read full review »

The story is interesting and the script well written, but the writer/narrator’s vocal fry is very distracting. It undermines her professionalism as she comes across as a 21st century “Valley girl.”

There’s some parts of the season one that are great but to me it has been very repetitive. I enjoy the the story telling of Dana in some episodes but I truly dislike how she thought Cece would be a great addition to the story an apparent self proclaimed “cute blonde with big boobs…” she added...Read full review »

Setting aside the quality of the podcast itself, which is wonderful from a technical standpoint (especially the music and sound design!), I feel the need to echo some of the other negative reviews I’ve read, specifically regarding the last episode of season 2. Dana has a fabulous voice and delivers the case with professionalism. Expertly produced. The story; tragic and once again throws a question mark over law enforcement.

Well, looks like Dana Goodyear is just another hack job journalist in today’s “all about me” society. Completely unoriginal, this season was clearly carefully curated to boost Dana’s ego at the expense of the Roehler Family. This is not true journalism, but one sided, sensationalized...Read full review »

The case of Fred & the drownings of his wifes - This is an interesting story but what is so aggravating & mind boggling to me is that the DA & officers have spent so much time on this case trying to find Fred guilty when there is clearly not enough evidence to prove him guilty. I almost gave up on this one, but I’m glad I pushed through to episode 10 - Lifelines. The host leaves ambiguity and impartiality behind and takes a side. I agreed with the host’s conclusions, and was glad to have a kind of closure to the story. Good soundtrack, great setting (Malibu in the...Read full review »

It has been 24 hours since I started this podcast and I’m writing this review 10 seconds after it ended. Dana Goodyear has a great way of pacing the words. I wrote my effusive review before the enormous letdown & disappointment of the last 2 episodes. I felt & still feel robbed! What happened Dana? After only hearing about this case through this podcast I don’t feel like I know enough about the case to say whether I think Fred is innocent or guilty, however, to me it seems like the host probably deceived Fred’s daughters as to her intentions with this podcast so that they would talk to her...Read full review »

There were several interesting things about this podcast that attracted me to it. There is the general true crime part. But there is also the legal discussion. It appears to me that the storyteller took it upon herself to once again convict a man in the eyes of the general public while completely...Read full review »

Especially the second season. It’s a fascinating story in which, I think, the right verdict was reached. There’s compelling recordings from the time of the crime and now, not least of Fred, who I agree with one of the contributors is probably a sociopath. The question we’re left with is how many...Read full review »

This was a great story and well told. It flowed well and all bases were covered. I share the opinion of another reviewer here though, that it was unfair of the podcast host to reach the conclusion she did. It absolutely felt like a betrayal to the girls, but also flawed logic. Host says the girls...Read full review »

The interview in ep 2 is so difficult to hear!! Narrator should have summed it up, as it was painful to get through. Painful enough that we almost quit listening.

I liked season one well enough, so when I saw season two out I gave it a listen. The story is interesting and it was one I hadn’t heard. I did like how we could hear from the daughters and Fred. Reminds me of ‘West Cork’ and that’s high praise indeed! I had no problem with the podcaster having her own opinions on what actually happened. She lets us make up our own minds, and shares hers. The ads were annoying, but that’s down to Pushkin, not the caster, and I just jump past them.

The answer was there all along and no one saw it. On the other hand, that ROB LOWE, is an excellent story teller. I could listen to him all day.

I signed up for this podcast and love it. I don’t love it enough to pay for something that pauses unexpectedly constantly… I have a new phone, new update, not the cause. Anyone else ? Frustrating. Would give a higher rating if it didn’t just stop out of nowhere.

The music and intro songs are too long. Episodes are great, I enjoyed both seasons differently but equally.

Every single break, three identical ads back to back, three different voices, over, and over, and over, and over. The only thing scarier than Anthony Rauda is having to listen to the Geico ads that never stop and it feels like no one is paying attention.
