Everything about this podcast is excellent! The production, the host, and how the stories of the victims and their families are told with compassion and sensitivity. I appreciate that! I’m so happy there is a season two!

I really want to love this podcast but I just don't. Right when you get into the story, you're bombarded with plastic surgery ads. I know ads are necessary, but the ads in this show are excessive. I listen to a lot of podcasts, small productions and big, and none of them have the amount...Read full review »

This is without a doubt the worst podcast I have ever listen to. You make a lot of assumptions. Are you really qualified to say that someone is paranoid. And it’s amazing how often you make this all about you. You can’t understand why the police departments are all in different to you and won’t...Read full review »

Nice presenting style but an overly detailed account of a plot that goes nowhere. Gave up.

Too many ads! Very interesting, but every time it gets going, ads!

I was so awaiting this next season! Love this podcast😊 Thanks from Victoria, BC

Government propaganda. Aren’t we all tired of this? Ruins the show.

The stories are well told and interesting. The ads are completely insulting. I skip them all. Body shaming much? Keep that plastic surgery-esque advice out of my ears!

Well done! Keep them coming.

Spoiler follows The ballistics clearly identify the killer. There is no mystery here despite all of the episodes. Feels like click bait. One episode was all that was needed —at most. The Sheriff’s Office should’ve posted a warning. That’s the other piece of it. Could’ve been 20 minutes. I...Read full review »

Overall, I thought this was a good podcast. It was well presented, carried the story line well and kept it interesting. They also did an excellent job humanizing the victim and his family which is often overlooked in true crime stories. However, I did have a few issues with it. The host seemed to...Read full review »

This podcast was investigated well. Any podcast is difficult to end when there is no ending but the host was great. I love her voice and can tell she’s extremely intelligent and educated. It’s so easy to set back and throw out nasty reviews when that person has no idea what it takes to...Read full review »

There are several things wrong with this. One is that the host/narrator so badly wants to be the lady from Serial it’s pathetic. She attempts to emulate the exact speaking pattern and story telling strategy. The journalism of this isn’t honest. The host constantly holds back information in a way...Read full review »

As a big fan of true crime mystery and investigative shows and podcasts - I can say I’ve listened to countless. This is VERY well done. There aren’t red herrings, numerous ads or tangents of self-indulgent filler with this host. I have literally stopped listening to some podcasts unfortunately...Read full review »

This case has received a lot of coverage, but there isn’t much at stake. There should be some celebrities vs. townies tension in a place like Malibu, but that doesn’t come out in the story. Lost interest somewhere in the hills of episode three.
sinoscuba via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/14/21
First off I live in So Cal, Orange County and I heard this story from the news. Yes Ms Goodyear is right the police and sheriff in Malibu didn’t warn anyone. I had a son in College there and never got any warning. In fact when the fire was happening they evacuated and said nothing then. I...Read full review »

I was immediately captivated by this podcast after being recommended by others, but by episode 5 I started getting really annoyed by the judgmental musings & contradictory statements by Dana. This didn’t seemed to be addressed in the podcast, but due to Anthony’s mental state and the fact that his physical appearance didn’t seem to be that of a hunter, in the sun, weathered or rugged, could he have come upon the Real camp killer, and killed that person? Then he would lay clam to...Read full review »

This one could have been half the length. After episode 1, easy to lose interest. Writing rather sophomoric.

In no way does this story deserve an 8 part series. I’m not sure it’s even worth a standalone episode. I kept thinking something was going to happen, but the story just isn’t interesting. The whole thing feels very self-indulgent, like the 5000th attempt to recreate Serial. Investigative true...Read full review »

Podcast is super flat. Story was told in first episode. Cici is annoying as F and doesn’t contribute a thing to the storyline. Got through the middle of Episode 7 and I can’t take another minute. There’s nothing to this story.

It might seem like a cut and dry story in Ep 1, but you’ll likely be surprised by the ultimate outcome. A roller coaster of stranger-than-life characters, beautiful places, and thoughtful journalism.

Another mediocre podcast making a buck off the backs of other people’s misery.
6)$78..4:2 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/10/21
The host of the podcast seems to have her mind made up already, and is one sided in her reporting. This feels more like a conversation at a beauty salon than any type of investigation or reporting.
LaurenVirden via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/10/21
Great host great story but there’s wayyyyy to much with this obnoxious Cece woman. She’s disgusting.

A story that can be told in ten minutes is dragged-out over six hours, with a lot of information invented by someone who is not a competent reporter.
Seahawk190 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/09/21
The story is interesting enough but the judgement call on the police is undeserved. In retrospect our thinking is always so linear. If only the police had done X, then Y would not have happened. But we never know the unintended consequences. Perhaps a 3 car crash on an overcrowded alternative...Read full review »

Found the “investigative reporting” a bit tabloid-ish. I think this crux of this story could have been better edited and then told in a couple episodes versus stretched into an entire season.
PopeJ99 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 05/30/21
Story is interesting if a little slow pacing wise, but the adds are intensely obnoxious and really cheapen the show, it’s like listening to some trashy pop radio station.
