Dr. Ehrman is a humble and highly educated biblical scholar who has dedicated years in learning the various ancient languages of the Bible and New Testament in which scribes wrote and rewrote scripture. Bart Ehrman offers fascinating knowledge and insight Christians may find of value that go...Read full review »

Misquoting Jesus is by far the best bible-focused podcast available. The fact that Ehrman draws a lot fire from Christians and non-Christians alike speaks volumes. Based on my own reading in the field of historical criticism, he represents the mainstream consensus pretty accurately. I appreciate...Read full review »

The combo of Megan and Bart brings life to ancient writings and ideas. The scholarship is incridible and there’s never a podcast that doesn’t give me new insights into stories I’ve known from childhood. The collaboration between these two scholars is fun, light, and yet very deep into the weeds...Read full review »

Bart Ehrman is a brilliant lecturer, an endless fountain of knowledge and insight. I have learned more about the Christian Bible from him than from everyone else put together.

Great to hear a more appealing interpretation of the scriptures.

But I find this series fascinating. As Bart says, Christianity has had and continues to have, a great impact on the modern world and his stand against misinformation is both essential information and interesting in its own right

I love how Bart simply explains the truth without preaching.

If you want to here some fresh takes on the Bible and not the things you figured out when you were eight. Tune into the Bible Geek podcast!

Dr. Ehrman is so knowledgeable and is great at explaining. He does not deride any believers, although he occasionally mentions the grifter type religious leaders. His cohost is no slouch, teaching ancient languages as she works on her PhD!

Bart Ehrman is a brilliant scholar who can explain complex things well without dumbing them down. Highly recommended.

I love this podcast. The information is presented in an interesting and informative manner. I do not feel like I am being talked down as a biblical novice. The combination of these makes me want to delve deeper and learn more. The only complaint is not a content issue but an audio issue. I don’t...Read full review »

Excellent dive into the scriptures from a scholarly perspective. Prof Ehrman is able to instantly cross reference and compare scripture from a non biased and neutral position. The podcast approaches material in a serious way, but also makes learning fun and enjoyable.

As I understand it, Ehrman lost his faith but not his passion for the history of the New Testament. This is what I find so valuable. Does it matter that the woman caught in adultery should have been included in the KJV and left out when earlier Hebrew tracts were discovered? Should the RSV be...Read full review »

I have just finished listening to the latest podcast on tenure. The U.S. seems to be headed down a very dangerous path and it appears some right wing politicians see education as the enemy.

I found this podcast while trying to learn some history about the Bible. Wow, it is a good one. Bart is a wealth of knowledge on the New Testament and is also quite funny. Meghan is an amazing host that asks wonderful questions and of course I love listening to her British accent. They are...Read full review »

I stumbled upon Ehrman’s work doing an internet search for “Are the Gospels true?” This podcast does a wonderful job of presenting what we know about the Bible-especially the New Testament-in a scholarly and secular manner. I am an agnostic and another thing I like is that though Ehrman is an...Read full review »

Such an evenflow understanding. He speaks well. He speaks the truth. But as well, there is a place for “real beyond” spirituality, for which he does not see the door. There is a place in consciousness from which things Jesus said mean something different.

Bart Ehrman is a delight to listen to and read, he’s single-heartedly made me interested in the books of the New Testament. He and his interviewer, Megan Lewis, get to the heart of the issues with intelligence and fun—they’re a great team. I look forward to every new episode!

This is such an enjoyable podcast - the interviews are great, the discussions are deep, and it’s lighthearted sometimes as well. I’ve looked forward to listening as the new podcasts come out.

This is the best. The producer and host is excellent. To have such knowledge presented in such a way, to make it accessible and relatable, from such a dedicated scholar - invaluable!! Just awesome. Love the short intro and the low level pre-topic banter. Keep this up!!

I’ve been a big fan of Bart and his work for many years so it’s awesome to have new audio content from him on a weekly basis. I have read most of Bart Ehrman’s general audience books, and I was so excited to see he is now doing a podcast. I have been interested in the historical context of the Bible, and basically all the questions that Mr. Ehrman answers in books.

Now imagine you sit down to listen to one of the world’s leading biblical scholars discuss topics on a podcast and he refers to your denomination, which we will say totals less than 70 million, as a small minority because there are let’s say nearly 2.5 BILLION Christians. Now imagine you give an...Read full review »
