“I truly enjoyed Murder in Oregon, but this has been really hard to listen to.
It starts out framing the situation as an innocent man convicted for murder, in a heartbreaking situation. This drew me in, but quickly focus turns to the Vaughn family's opinions about Kim's family. After noting that only that side of the family agreed to talk, they still continue to air their, mostly negative, recollections.
Immediately this feels inappropriate, but the assumption is that this will set up some revelation, or in some way become relevant. Three episodes in, it has mostly continued to be one family attacking the character of one of the victims and her parents.
This is all coming from the stated perspective that Vaughn did not commit the murder. Even if they're setting a situation where it is something that Kim, or her family did, it's hard to justify. If they're setting up a scenario where Vaughn was justified in killing her, or perhaps setting up a 180 that they ultimately just believe he did it, it is even more bizarre. By episode three you have to have find some way to justify, to the listener, what you're doing. It feels dirty to keep listening.
I truly don't get it. If we are to continue to suspend our sense of empathy, for an ostensibly murdered woman, we need a reason, and it should come well before the fourth episode.”Read full review »

“The Vaughn family has shown very little empathy up to this point which I hope changes as we unravel this story. Personal opinion: Kimberly has not died, just reborn to her natural being of energy. We fight dark forces of energy in this world and perhaps there was tunnel vision on behalf of law...”Read full review »

“UPDATE: I believe that the first episode was tastefully done. The second episode was terrible! I realize that Kimberly’s parents chose not to participate, but I think it was indecorous to broadcast the Vaughn’s badmouthing all of them! It just smacked of disrespect, and, frankly, much of it was...”Read full review »

“I've never written a review but by episode 3, I'm furious. I don't know anything about this case except for this podcast stated in episode 1, which is that most people believe Chris Vaughn is guilty. So why didn't they either 1) drop all the episodes at once or 2) start with the...”Read full review »
