I have been a true and die hard Beatles fan for most of my life and have held off exploring a Beatles podcast as the few I had sampled years ago were sadly disappointing. I am beyond happy that I gave this podcast a try. Steven and Jason are amazing. Fun, engaging, knowledgeable, I have fallen in...Read full review »

First generation American Beatles fan (yes, I saw them on Ed Sullivan) here who rediscovered the Beatles as I was approaching retirement. (The internet helped.) Why listen to NIR? Because of the hosts’ warmth, good humor and laughter even as they disagree; their incredible thorough research; the...Read full review »

I love this podcast for its quiet humour as much as I do for its total mastery of its subject. I’m working my way through each episode and it has been a real pleasure. I love the deep dives, the hosts’ level of knowledge and the depth of their research is impressive. I’m constantly learning new...Read full review »

There are quite a few Beatles podcasts out there currently. Most are not worth your time. This podcast is light years ahead of the others. The hosts are intelligent and well spoken. As someone who has been listening to, reading about and thinking about the Beatles for close to 50 years I...Read full review »

After losing interest in a number of other Beatles podcasts, I noticed that this was one I look forward to. I listen to every episode (not like other podcasts) and find them interesting and entertaining and full of information. So a big thank you and keep up the great work.

What makes this podcast different from other Beatles podcast is that what they do is take a subject area and synthesise information from a range of sources. The sources may include the various books that come out on an almost weekly basis radio interviews other podcasts even. The trick is that...Read full review »

This is one of the finest Beatle podcast anywhere. While many musical podcasts feature bland hosts treading water in “what if” scenarios or top 10 lists , masters Carty & Cockcroft understand that a broadcast must keep moving - and this one flows with facts , humor and their own personal...Read full review »

Reasonably diverting, but the tiny-bit-too-smug-for-their-boots presenters - listen carefully, it *is* actually two different guys - have crossed the line into sneering, of late, familiarity having seemingly bred contempt for a subject most of their listeners presumably - y’know - do actually...Read full review »

Humorous, informative and compelling, I love this podcast with a passion. I’ve blissfully binged on the back catalogue of this brilliant, Beatle, buffet, (tabloid alliteration, worthy of “Johnny B paperback writer”, see what I did?). Thanks Fellahs Joe Leigh-Wilbury.

I really wanted something like this. Because the more you learn the deeper your appreciation for the greatest band to ever exist becomes. And these guys are absolutely fantastic. Dudes dive deeper than most on a beloved topic. So good! Highly recommend, if even just for the nice tones of their voices and appropriate reverence for their subject matter.

Generally very good and informative but it seems the lads can’t get through an episode without having a dig at Paul McCartney’s expense. This grates a bit but that’s just me. Overall I recommended this podcast for all Beatles enthusiasts.

Since the late 60’s I’ve enjoyed listening to the Beatles. Though I have felt fond of the musicians I’ve not considered reading a book or listening to a podcast about them. Then I stumbled upon “nothing is real” and can’t stop listening. Hosts Jason and Stephen are a pleasure to listen to. Full...Read full review »

In many ways, this is a really good podcast if you want to hear a discussion about Beatle facts, Beatle trivia and Beatle history. I’ve dived deep into ALL Beatles podcasts. And this is the best for quiet erudition, gentle humour, and deep deep knowledge. As they say as their lead-in, we think we know the Beatles…..

I just discovered this Podcast recently and I so appreciate insight and content. The hosts are lifelong fans as we all are, but are not afraid to tactfully discuss a few “less than positive” aspects to life as a Beatle and the interaction between “the Boys” and those around them. A top Beatles podcast. The hirsute Jason offers great insight whilst the lawyerly Steven has Kline like attention to detail. The podcast is so good you’d think Donovan had a hand in it

Very knowledgable, but with a wit and humour that makes you feel like you’re in a conversation with them in a pub about your favourite band. They also have a knack of not coming across as devout hero-worshippers despite their clear fandom. They know when to critique when it’s due… but always with...Read full review »

The 'Greatest Story Ever Told' needs great storytellers and two of the best are Steven & Jason. NIR is well researched, erudite, charming and all delivered with a wry sense of humour. I never knew that a podcast about the Beatles could be as much fun as this one. I’ve listened to a few Beatles podcasts but none really clicked for me. It turns out that in the interim, some really good ones have starred up and there is nothing better than Nothing is Real. Definitely get a subscription for the extra episodes. Deeply knowledgeable and detailed.

This is hands down the best Beatles Podcast and even better it’s not American where you have to put up with long intro’s and inane banter before the show starts , these guy’s get straight into it . Also they do great in depth series that you simply don’t get anywhere else .

Lennon does not get a fair shake and I don’t think he has voice in this podcast as Steven is a Harrison man and the dub a macca fan. Way to PC on Yoko. She destroyed Lennon’s art. Otherwise great and very well organised, detailed and prepared. Legal angles very interesting.
