Got hooked. Love the concept, writing, acting.

I’m just starting season 3 now, and I love this podcast. I will admit, I was skeptical at the beginning, but I kept listening and got hooked after the second episode. The voice acting adds to the story. Very creepy stories with twists and turns that you definitely won’t see coming. I’m very happy...Read full review »

LOVE this show SO much. It starts off awesome and gets better and better. Story telling, production quality, eeriness - so compelling. A big YES from me! I’m hooked.

Absolutely beautiful story telling! I’ve listened to every season multiple times and usually with first person podcasts it sometimes can feel like someone reading you a book and therefore become easily ignored in the background BUT NOT WITH THIS PODCAST! While the story’s character changes with...Read full review »

I wanted to like this podcast. I liked the idea of an anthology. It’s not very well written or done. The dialogue is not believed and feels contrived at times. I listened to all of season one, 2 episodes of season two and two episodes of four. While it does seem like the podcast has tried to...Read full review »

I have ploughed through all the previous seasons of Palimpsest, and loved them. So quietly, artfully chilling, yet totally compelling. Hayly’s voice is beguiling and perfectly pitched. The new season is shaping up to be just as wonderful and I am cursing the fact that it’s only an ep every two...Read full review »

Bravo! I really enjoyed the first two seasons, but the third was spectacular. It helps that I’m a huge fan of the the source material that served as inspiration—even if not so much for the author of said material. The show has always done so much with relatively little in terms of sound design....Read full review »

Each season is a unique story. I think the story just keeps getting more interesting. They try many different types of stories which is fun. However there is NO sound design which makes the podcast a bit harder to listen to

I liked some of the stories and disliked others. If you don’t like what you’re hearing make sure to check out a different season. Overall such a great show though.

Just great. It must be so tempting to just smash in their with some classic horror bangs but it’s neatly crescendoed. Great work guys.

Faeries (the complicated kind), spies who see ghosts, death in the suburbs (or was it murder?), and excellent production! Love the pacing, the story craft is a great balance of background in a moving plot. I wait eagerly in between episode releases. This is the jam!

I was under the impression this was to be horror or thriller stories. Turns out it’s amateur accent hour instead. Stories were lackluster and reaching. Content was so uninteresting I struggled but based on other reviews I figured I’d keep trying. That’s a bunch of time I’ll never get back

It really does. I can’t recommend Palimpsest enough if you like creepy stories with a lot of heart

I just started listening a couple of days ago and finished Season 1 tonight. I was thoroughly engaged from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to hear each new episode to see what was gonna happen next! This is by far my favorite podcast ever and I have listened to a ton of great fiction podcasts!! Palimpsest is the only series I ever listened to twice because I love it so much. I’m so excited for season three! While waiting, I listened to season 1 and 2 again. Haley, I hope you and your sweet...Read full review »

Palimpsest is officially one of my favorite podcasts. The writing is beautiful and haunting. The voice acting is phenomenal. The theme music is the perfect realization of the word palimpsest. If we want to change the world, we need to change the stories we tell. Embrace what haunts you.

Awesome, scary, and engaging first season. The second season was not really my taste, and seemed sort of slow.

For the love of all that’s holy, please learn some voice acting techniques, or production techniques, to STOP the dreadful swallowing and breathing noises. Either/or. I really, really want to enjoy this, but it’s unlistenable.

The reviews had me sticking with it too long. I skipped to the end by episode six to try to find some reward for my time investment, haha. There wasn’t anything thrilling there and I didn’t regret my decision to cut it short. I did regret sticking with it after the first episode, however.

Palimpsest is a great, slow-burning psychological horror. Fans of Alice Isn’t Dead should enjoy it.

Eh
With these reviews I thought it would be better. Pretty predictable and drags on with useless rambling from the narrator. Not worth trying out season 2, especially after hearing the trailer lol the “accents” are cringe worthy

Listened to Season Two while on a road trip and loved it. The older setting and array of mythical characters are very different from Season One, but the story is just as good. do yourself a favor and listen! #Embracewhathauntsyou

When I heard this podcast had Haunting of Hill House vibes I was so excited but that just isn’t true at all! The plot was interesting at first but it got old so fast. The storytelling is delightful throughout Season 1, but be aware that the audio includes constant mouth popping/saliva noises, making it borderline unlistenable at times if that’s something that you find yourself aware of. A wonderful find! Great pacing, voice work, and beautifully written. I very much appreciated that there weren’t too many frills; the focus was really on the story, its development, and the narrator. Sound effects were used sparingly and, therefore, much more effectively. Great job! I look forward...Read full review »

Palimpsest is sheer perfection for a horror driven story that has a multitude of twists and turns. Two series in and two very different stories and both superbly done. I’ve recently discovered a liking to horror audio drama and so far I’m loving this mild horror. I’m not closed to finishing the whole thing but I think the slow build and how everything is being unraveled little by little. Tiny tiny suggestion. Season 1 was an easy listen with some nice character development. Low-keep production, mostly staged for one-voice acting. Well done.

Only five episodes in, but I am completely enthralled. The writing has a beautiful melancholy quality to it. I love how we are left guessing if the creepy elements are psychological or paranormal - either way they are very thrilling! Excited to listen to more.

I discovered this show when I happened to sit next to Jamieson at an event at PodCon2, and listened to a bunch of episodes on the flight home. Palimpsest is a masterclass of narrative storytelling. Both series' produced so far are artfully written, perfectly paced, and with really engaging delivery. Such a good story, but the noise this girls mouth makes as she’s talking is almost to much to handle. You know, that wet, almost smacking noise. It’s making me want to literally die.

Just finished listening to Season One and I really enjoyed it. The audio quality is great, Haley makes a great first-person narrator, and the story unfolds well over the course of 10 episodes.
