I love this podcast. I’m a comedian and a comedy fan and love listening to it. Stu’s interviewing style is insightful and thorough, which makes for thoughtful and interesting chats. Brilliant range of guests too.

Ok
I don’t know who he is but he kowtows to modern silly politics where we are supposed to accept other people’s mental delusions. Is also of the type that has been programmed to believe that being a member of the prevailing culture of this island is somehow being privileged - really ? The reverse...Read full review »

I adore this podcast; it’s my safe space. Stu’s effortless conversation style, plus the chance to hear from some of the most insightful brains of our era, is a totally winning combination. Come for the comedy tips, stay for the life lessons! THANK YOU!!

As someone flat broke, I’m struck by how easy-going, fun, and honest the donation pitches are — thank you for running the positive, affirming, and industry intel focused approach through even the nooks and crannies of the podcasts. The interviews? Without exception, the conversations are top...Read full review »

But also as an aspiring person Such good interviews with brilliant people to both understand the mechanics of comedy writing and getting to grips with why people do it, who they are and what their stories are. Absolutely fascinating and good fun.

Your show. Liking it. Please have on Paul and Sasha from "Community News with Paul and Sasha" or whatever their real names are. They are the funniest show within a show in podcasting. All original. Would love to hear about their process with you. Keep up the good work.Read full review »

too much virtue signalling from new comedians ( jordan grey etc ) not amusing or funny. Unless you buy into the “all trans is good” rhetoric don't waste your time.Read full review »

Easily the best podcast about the creative process. This show and its archive are gifts to current/future comedians but even if you’re not a comedian (and not that into comedy) ((who is this hypothetical person?)) hearing smart, funny people talk about how they think is a joy. Stu Goldsmith -...Read full review »

The comcompod has significantly deepened my love for the art of standup, and has led to several major breakthroughs in my own therapy process.

So many podcasts are just someone talking off of the top of their head. Stu actually does the research before talking to comedians—watches their stuff, reads other interviews—so you get a more thorough and interesting conversation than the ones you are used to hearing. He’s funny and...Read full review »

If you want to get an insight into the workings of a Comedian's mind - or simply just want to laugh - listen to this podcast. I've just relistened to the episode with guest Barry Cryer who we've just recently lost. Stuart keeps the conversation going at a nice pace and asks...Read full review »

I am a comedian and have been listening to this poodcast for years and absolutely love it. He asks great questions and is an amazing listener. It has helped me be a better comedian and inspired me to create my own podcast.

This is basically the equivalent of required reading for those who love comedy. I binged every episode to get up to date once I found it (quite a feat - it’s a hell of a back catalogue) and only one episode really didn’t float my boat (though I still listened as I didn’t want to miss the...Read full review »

Really interesting podcast, Stu getting into the processes used by a bunch of your favourite comedians. Well worth it when it is free. You can also send him a donation, which is even better value

I am relatively new to this podcast but have been hovering up the episodes. I love listening to the episodes that correspond to a comedian’s special, e.g. James Acaster and Cold Lasagne Hate Myself. A particular highlight is the Brett Goldstein episode. Can’t wait to keep discovering new insights...Read full review »

This eps is one true gem of all podcasts, TCC normally deals with stand ups. But this one is exceptional. Really needs a part 2.

Got put onto this through the You’re Dead To Me - Asante Empire pod #beaverbums Absolutely first class, listened to the Robby Collins episode, it’s interesting to hear what the journey is and all that happens prior to the 10 minute set we’ll see; and often take for granted. Very honest and deep thoughts in the newest episode with James Acaster. I found it to be very helpful for myself as well. It made me think a lot. You should definitely listen to it.

Stuart is a scholar of modern comedy. His interviewing technique is great for settling and getting his subjects comfortable. There's an honesty from Stuart himself that brings everything back to the subject brilliantly. For the uninitiated, I recommend diving in with two polar opposite ends...Read full review »

Ok, the best podcast ever made might be a little hyperbolic - I haven’t listened to every podcast ever made so I can’t be objective. BUT, it’s up there. Stuart is affable and calm, which makes him the perfect interviewer. He is funny but not domineering, a trait I’ve noticed in podcasts hosted by...Read full review »

The problem with nearly all podcasts is that they are a yakfest. Stuart Goldsmith asks fellow comedians very good to-the-point questions, and he cares, and he has a voice that you can listen to for some time. I would like to hear him talk to more of the world's top comedians.Read full review »

Apart from being a comedian, Stu is a comedy fan. A comedy nerd indeed. His interviews with fellow comedians unpick their history, their goals, their methods, and more. Essential listening for anyone interested in comedy.

Stuart Goldsmith does a phenomenal job on this podcast as he interviews comics from the U.K. and abroad. I’ve listened to about 15 episodes and find most of them fascinating. I absolutely LOVE this podcast, I sometimes wish I can get lost in the car especially to get to the end of an interview in one go. Comedy and comedians are the most raw, insightful observation of life. It’s an art and a science. Stuart Goldsmith has created a gem!

A fascinating glimpse into the mind of each comedian that Stu interviews. It’s not supposed to be funny per se, rather an in depth look into the creative process - how they write, how they engage with an audience and and how they’ve built a career. Fascinating stuff!
