Host has no plan. Very poor production. Hard to listen to. If you can’t read wikipedia, this is a great podcast for you.

I just found this podcast and am enjoying the fascinating stories of humans who are faced with incomprehensible challenges and survive against all odds! I love how the hosts tell the tales and paint the picture of the scenarios. These podcasts are perfect stories as an alternative to turning the...Read full review »

I’m sorry girls but could you be more monotone. No energy at all. You sound like your gong to sleep telling the story.

Interesting stories and I like the short format. They also have good advice on surviving these situations.

Meh
I wanted to like this, as I listen to similar podcasts, but the presenters speak like yr 10 students. It is stilted and frustrating to listen to.

They seem poorly researched and unprepared. It’s like they say one sentence and then pause for 5 seconds and then the next sentence, this cadence continues throughout the entire podcast. They have little to no energy, seemingly bored with the info they are putting out. Lots of unfunny jokes...Read full review »

I’ve listened to quite a few of the stories now. I do like the stories in and of themselves. However, unfortunately I agree with what others have written in reviews. The hosts don’t seem organized; too many weird pauses; inappropriate jokes; lack of detail, passion, flow, enthusiasm to tell...Read full review »

Get rid of 2nd narrator. You do not need her. She detracts from story & is neither gifted with wit nor insight. You can do it on your own. Listen to "Real Survival Stories."Read full review »

Despite having great content to work with the two speakers ruin this show. They put in minimal effort to truly understand and describe the amazing survival stories. It is a real pity and one episode is one too many.

The hosts seem very disorganized, most of the episodes sound as if they’re just reading from an article, then there will be a long pause as if they lost tract of where they were. I agree with others that the music is way too loud and distracting. If they can get it together this would be an...Read full review »

I’ve learned the best podcasts have: 1- no giggling 2- one host. More than one host usually means a bad podcast. I saw the story descriptions, and thought this was going to be a good story- telling podcast. Then within 15 seconds the giggling begins, and you can tell the host is reading, and not...Read full review »

I like the banter and back and forth between you guys. I find myself laughing at the jokes too…although some of them may be inappropriate given the subject matter. I’ve listened to several of the episodes and enjoy the stories but they lack depth, detail and passion? The stories are of survival...Read full review »

I so much wanted to like this podcast. There are some interesting stories, but the delivery is dry and during the side commentary they often laugh or make jokes when the situation being described is in NO way funny! What the heck ladies! I’m not sure what that is about, but sooooo...Read full review »

The stories are always good, however the music is too loud and distracting. Also, it sometimes sounds like you’re just reading and doesn’t hold attention. Interesting stories though!

I liked this podcast enough; good stories with no frills. Sure they sound a little monotonous, but I found the content interesting. Recently they’ve been adding dramatic background music. Not only is it too loud, it’s extremely distracting and also has weird timing? Idk just focus on using better...Read full review »

You gals are wonderful to listen to. I so love survival stories. I come home frm work every night and entertain my husband with your incredible stories Ive heard during my shift. Update: editing and sound quality has improved!! Yay! Original: Great content. Buuuut It can be difficult to listen to sometimes due to lack of editing. We hear all the pauses and mistakes and it takes us out of the story.

I agree with Pontius. The 2 don’t seem to be natural communicators. They’re reading the words rather than telling the story and you can hear this in their dialog.
Trav Rockwell via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/17/23
Seems like they are simply summarizing their google searches. Neither person seems to have ANY sort of expertise in survival situations…or have done any extra research into the types of situations the subjects of their stories are in. Could also use some rehearsing and a script editor.

Beyond odd. I assumed the early episodes were a learning experience for them, but after skipping ahead to the newest ones, the same issues persisted: 1. They seem to be reading some kind of report that they have written, but when they misspeak, they don’t edit that out. So there are gaps of 5...Read full review »

Really enjoying these podcasts. Here is why: 1) the hosts look for the best in the survivors. The hosts don’t judge them. Instead, the hosts often empathize because they can envision people making innocent mistakes. 2) the hosts have great camaraderie. They have a very easy going banter and I can...Read full review »

The stories would be really interesting, but the hosts seem so bored. I don’t know why they are hosting this if they don’t like their own material. They seem super sheltered and judgmental, as well. I think they should do a different podcast that might involve some wine so they can loosen up.

Little information and quite amateur. Almost sorry I took the time to listen.
jezser via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/14/22
Every story comes off as a poorly done high school book report. Almost as if someone handed them the story just before pressing record. They clearly don’t do much research into the topic, which is really frustrating when they begin to speculate random information.
