There are plenty of podcasts today, that offer stories of the weird and eerie, but the consistency of the excellent selections that are here cannot be matched. I’m very lucky that I stumbled across this podcast and I recommend it highly to my friends and family.

Tycho remains the hardest working, most lovable human in podcastland. A terrific weird tales writer too. This is amateur podcasting in the best sense, podcasting done for the love of it (Lat. *amare*, to love). I have discovered many stories on this show, and experienced in full others I'd...Read full review »

It really is, pretty good…

This podcast is made up of high-quality readings of exactly the kinds of short fiction I’m always looking for - ghost stories, weird sci fi, poetic fantasy, and tales of Lovecraftian strangeness. (The selections rarely include body horror, and I appreciate that.) In addition to short stories,...Read full review »

This was my introduction to “classic” 19th and early 20th century gothic and I am so, so SO grateful for the effort that was taken to make this happen. Just fantastic.

Super love the host, his commitment to being welcoming of everyone, and the selection of his stories.

I just need to say though, it does annoy the funk out of me that you continually feel the need to mention that any money goes right back into the show, because like, you’re providing us with a service, and it’s valuable, and you deserve to be compensated for your time and effort. You mentioning...Read full review »

You have talent sir! BUT, don’t try to push things politically on people. I understand you are principled and I appreciate that. Mentioning it is one thing. Sometimes, you come across as Self Righteous, though. I can empathize with you about being called prejudice for no reason. You are the last...Read full review »

I want to start off by saying that this is a show I always check in on every week to see what’s new. I don’t listen to every episode, but I enjoy the host’s readings quite a lot. I’ve even discovered some new authors and stories through this show that I’ve since grown to love! In that regard I...Read full review »

I started listening for the H.P. Lovecraft but his voice & style drew me in. Great podcast - lots of stories so you can just put it on & listen for hours....

Tycho my man, can I just say what an excellent reader and storyteller you are. I’ve listened to an awful lot of podcasts and your delivery and clarity puts most narrators out there to shame. I’m quite picky (ok, very picky) about quality of diction, but I’ve failed to find fault so far with...Read full review »

This show really is a hidden gem that I am so happy to have uncovered! I never gave much credit to early writers of horror and I am so embarrassed of that line of thinking now! This podcast as open my mind and changed my entire opinion. Of course I was familiar with Poe, Shelley, and Stoker but I...Read full review »

This guy is the best read podcasting story teller on the World Wide Web, short and stunning little tales, or chapter by chapter huge volume stories, old and new, somehow all very fitting, but mostly just very very well presented, I have barely listened to anything else for months. Just brilliant....Read full review »

I really, really like this podcast. The guy who reads it has a really good voice, as does his wife who sometimes does recording (tried to phrase that without sounding weird but couldn’t figure out a way). It covers a lot of the books that I’ve wanted to read or re-read but never seem to have time...Read full review »

The readings are adequate. I’d say better than Libravox but not as good as other podcast readers, so I’m not excited by the reading. Most if it is flat, with little emotion or pacing. The speed of reading is always the same, there is some inflection, but not much to create audible interest....Read full review »

Weird tales have been a guilty pleasure of mine for years. This podcast is a mix of tales I have not read for years and things I have never heard of - nostalgia and discovery all wrapped up in one fun package. Tycho reads them with just the right timing, and never taking anything more seriously...Read full review »

This is such a great place to listen to poems and short weird fiction, especially from authors who have a dense way of writing that isn’t as fun on paper. The reader has a good reading voice and isn’t either monotone or overdramatic. His selections are really good and varied, with a good mix of...Read full review »

Nothing over the top, not overly produced, but those are both compliments. These are just solid readings of cool weird tales done really well. Tyko (sp) seems like a really cool, down to earth guy in the short intros and extros he adds to the shows. I really look forward to seeing these...Read full review »

Excellent narration of classics with more obscure works sprinkled in. Essential for anyone looking for a touch of cosmic horror.

The selection of tales is really good, with the classics interspersed with less well-known - but no less deserving - stories. The readings are great, and the bloopers at the end are a lovely human touch. The whole package is quality entertainment, with enough chills to keep your black little...Read full review »

Absolutely great podcast. Glad there are no sponsors or commercials. You can tell tycho is passionate about reading and narration. Constructive criticism incoming: Hey man it would be cool if you could record some bookends for your episodes. Some intros and outros. It would be nice to know...Read full review »

The reader has a really good tone of voice and very energetic. I got into this podcast because of my bf who loves Lovecraft. I was paying an app for audio books but ditched it after I found this podcast. Hope he keeps it up! From cloudy Uppsala Sweden

Great voice reading great works. Love the story selection and that there are no interruptions for sponsors through the readings like so many other shows. I slammed the subscribe button after the first episode I heard (“The Thing on the Doorstep”).
