I can’t believe that this case, like so many others, has been swept under the rug. We should all be talking about this injustice and doing something about it. Well done to all involved. Even though it was heartbreaking to listen to this is so well made.

Beautiful. Heart breaking. Inspiring. Horrifying. Reality shattering. Essential listening for every Australian to recognise and acknowledge the reality of indigenous Australian. Thank you and all who contributed to this.

Could have been the most impactful and important podcast in recent history. Instead they stretch the story out over 6 episodes making it hard to follow and dull. 3 short sharp hard hitting episodes would have had much more effect. A few technical issues too. The background music often...Read full review »

This podcast uses unconscionably biased reporting of statistics when covering Indigenous deaths in custody. It offers no meaningful point of comparison when describing the number of Indigenous deaths in custody. Indigenous people are more likely than other races to be imprisoned but are not more...Read full review »

As tragic as this story is to hear, the telling is compelling. Thank you to the team who put this together, the journalism is outstanding. And to all the people who told their stories - thank you for your bravery.

Another incredible piece of investigative journalism by Allan Clarke. This time about the deeply tragic and unjustly handled death of young dancer, Daniel Yock, while in brief police custody in 1993. As always Clarke’s approach is intelligent, thorough, thoughtful and sensitive.

As a non-Indigenous Australian I am so heartbroken at the treatment of Aboriginal people in this country. This podcast should be required listening for ALL Australians

I am a white coloniser born and raised in Meanjin. This podcast is a true and searing reality of our Police department that isn’t a thing of the past. Indigenous bodies are still violated and policed into submission. The trauma will never be able to heal. Thank you for this podcast.

Born and raised in Brisbane and ashamed of my lack of knowledge of the history and the wrongs committed against it’s original inhabitants. Thanks for shining a light on some of the more recent wrongs.

Thank you so much for telling this story. What a shameful episode in Australian history or in the words of Queensland’s finest “an incident”. Well told, well done.

As a Maori growing up in Australia in the late 70’s and 80’s I know racism. I’ve saturated my self in First Nation and Maori knowledge. The NRL has helped bridge the gap between white, brown and black People’s. This podcast is brilliant!

Spent all morning listening and it brought me to tears so many times. Thank you for sharing your stories and showing us the harsh reality of the decisions made by those in power. I will not forget. Matt in Charters Towers,Queensland.
