Cannot believe that only 30k was raised for this effort! If she were in Ireland she would have 3 million! 🤷🏻‍♀️.

It’s taken me a long time to get back into WH since the departure of the wonderful Jane Garvey. I initially found Emma Barnett’s approach too adversarial and felt that she lacked the empathy necessary for WH. However I feel that with time Emma’s approach has softened and she has real empathy for...Read full review »

Emma’s interview with Maya Forstater was so poor. Whatever your views on an already highly polarised issue, this was not impartial by any means. It was rude, lazy, poorly researched and aggressive. I won’t be listening to WH again. Not sure women have any safe spaces anymore.

I love womens hour, the variety and topics you cover are fantastic. Really can’t listen to Emma though, hard hitting questions are one thing but she’s so bias and find her style so uncomfortable and hard to listen too!! Find myself turning off more and more

My fav podcast, I listen to WH everyday, as Emma is brilliant, she is the best interviewer around. She is so balanced, articulate, empathetic & powerful. Gentle with vulnerable people, challenging with those who need to be accountable, a brilliant role model. However I’m sure there is also a...Read full review »

I do enjoy listening to the new improved Womans Hour! Really interesting guests and I think Emma’s style is spot on! She has empathy but is also challenging! Reading through reviews it seems a lot of women find her too forthright/aggressive which to me indicates we’re still not used to women...Read full review »

Fantastic interview! How can the BBC think its impartiality HASN’T been compromised?! Well done Emma for asking the right questions, even if no straight answers were forthcoming. As usual…

I am an expat living in Australia. I am impressed at the quality of the journalism and content in Woman’s Hour- Emma Barnett in particular is top notch !

Emma, I like how you “stand your ground” even when you agree or disagree with your guest. You are truly a diplomat. [email protected]’net

Thanks very much for interviewing Kathleen Stock. This interview was long over due. I hope you continue to invite women who are speaking out to protect women and girls.

I love a strong interviewer who won’t accept people not answering the question but can Emma Barnett keep quiet for longer than 20 seconds and actually let respondents finish when they are answering

I live in Australia and often listen to Woman’s Hour in the evenings. It keeps me informed and updated on current issues impacting women, provides a range of political views and helps me feel connected to home.

Why are women being discriminated for having a family …every which way? Why should we be forced to go to work if we would like to choose to stay home and look after our own babies. Why , if we do choose to go to work, then be forced to pay so much for child care? Why are women made to feel bad if...Read full review »

I find Emma unbearably confrontational! I actually wince when she interjects repeatedly. The conversation rarely flows with her so the listening experience is quite unpleasant.

The last year or so has not been good for Woman’s Hour. The departure of two experienced presenters combined with COVID restrictions means the show is no longer the pleasurable listen it used to be. Emma is far too an abrasive an interviewer for a program that should be championing women’s...Read full review »

Refreshing to hear such a sensible and insightful discussion about something that is so misunderstood. Thank you for shining a light on this. X

I love hearing Anita’s laughter and light personal references at contributors comments and we even hear some from Emma. It definitely makes us ALL feel invested in the topics discussed.

Emma has really improved. Impressed by the way she puts politicians to task stands no nonsense . She also shows empathy and her soft side when appropriate. .

Emma Barnet I love the fact you do not take people mucking you around and persist to get the answers we all want 😊

I used to really enjoy woman’s hour, it’s lost it’s sparkle for me. Emma Barnett is a little to hostile an interviewer and looses the humanity somewhere. Of corse a lot of the topics tackled are serious but it’s like listening to a headmistress talk down to people, there’s no connection there.
babsupo via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/01/21
Maybe they should rebrand as inclusivity hour. It’s okay for women to be centered and for us to discuss things that do not include everyone.

I am so very, very disappointed that you choose to interview a man on what his perspective of his teenage years was like. He has absolutely no idea What it Feels Like for a Girl. He is promoting abuse/rape for teenage girls? Seriously? Such a misogynistic man. You have lost your minds BBC.

Jenny & Jane were top notch presenters. Emma Barnet is not. A huge step backwards for the programme. Have now unsubscribed after 10 years of listening.

I have been listening to Woman’s Hour for about 8 years. I have always listened to the podcasts rather than live shows so I am used to skipping parts of the show to fast forward to other bits- now I skip to fast forward Emma Barnett. Emma Barnet I am so shocked by your attack on Dr Mike Yeadon that I will no longer be listened to woman’s hour. I thought this was fair reporting but you are all just reading from the same sheet. Shame on you

I enjoy WH when it is a conversation rather than an interview. I don’t enjoy hearing a presenter obviously reading an intro - I miss the older presenters as they seemed so comfortable with us and the guests. It is a great programme. I hope the Craft Prize comes back and the cooking, sewing etc....Read full review »

Not sure what has shifted, my perception or Emma’s style. Anyway I am glad to have stayed tuned to Woman’s Hour as I am now as enjoying it as much as ever. Topics remain varied, guests informed and informative and Emma engaging. Bravo.

My mum used to listen to woman’s hour & so do I. At the moment I’m about 6 months behind trying to catch up on the podcasts after months of homeschooling & not being able to listen! Loved the programme but I really miss Jenny and Jane :( Wish Emma would let her guests actually speak rather than constantly interrupting and giving them such a grilling like they are on trial. Just not necessary.

I came to realise that I became a reluctant Woman’s Hour listener in 2021 because I just can’t get on with Emma Barnett’s combative, point-scoring interviewing style. Yet every week I’m looking forward to Fridays with Anita Rani. She is personable and “a woman’s woman”. Bring more Anita!

After listening to WH for 15 years without missing an episode. Jane and Jenni were equally fantastic. Since Emma Barnett has taken over, my love of the show has dwindled. I’m sorry to say after listening to WH for many years I no longer enjoy the programme. I do not like Emma’s interviewing style and feel its uncomfortable listening. I realise things/people move on but I especially miss Jane Garvey. Sorry WH. Over and out.

After being a avid listener for decades, and listening to podcasts on my daily dog walk, I am no longer going to tune in, Emma so abrasive in her questioning, plus her questions are longer than the time given for a response. I have been listening since I was in my mid twenties, saw me through many nightfeeds when my babies were born. Unfortunately the new format and Emma’s style leaves me feeling cold, too news-like and too abrasive for me. I’m now 35, I want to like it but I just can’t. Sad face 😥

The so called experts provided flimsy answers to a difficult situation. The so called experts failed to listen to the issue ar hand and totally failed to answer what the daughter can do to resolve the issue. For example the father needs to be placed in care. How does sh do this.

I am a loyal listener of WH, I know things have to change and Jenni had been there a bit too long.
