Really enjoy Women’s Hour mostly. Deeper insights into really people’s lives, their work and sociology-political affairs. However, this is structured and aimed at the middle class. There’s sympathy, for the working class, and an understanding for the elite, however, I imagine this content will be...Read full review »

The relevance and importance of this show has risen greatly in my estimation since they aired Emma Barnett’s interview with a trans activist who was put in place of a woman’s health charity - great to finally hear a bbc show take this issue on and not give softball questions to people who need to...Read full review »

I have a love hate relationship with WH. Sometimes it really resonates and the guests and topics are great, but other times it’s quite uncomfortable to listen to, particularly due to Emma’s interview technique. It seems like she tries to overcompensate to really get to the answer that she wants...Read full review »

Not loving the return of Emma B. to host the show. While I applaud women returning to the workforce after maternity leave and resuming their former duties, she's just not as warm and engaging as Anita and Nuala. It's a difficult listen given her overly aggressive and sometimes...Read full review »

Unless speaking about the uneven burden and discrimination mothers face, news about caring for children is not the same thing as news for women. Gross and pitiful. Just make a parenting/child-centric podcast. Seems like a podcast created with leadership who aren’t genuinely in favour of equality

Woman’s hour introduced me to feminism in 2012 and it opened my eyes! Will forever be in my heart. Such a wide range of topics with so many courageous, intelligent, kind women on every episode. Barnet does a great job as a tough or sensitive interviewer depending on the topic. Great job ladies!

Walked away after years with Jenny and Jane. These new hosts are more in the magnificent tradition of Women’s Hour. Curious, open, and smart. And occasionally wry or even funny.
Auntyfascist via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/16/23
I listen to Woman’s Hour for topics of interest and women’s stories in general. However, I feel that the BBC’s obsession with “balance” has led this podcast down a dangerous road where, whenever trans issues are discussed, the far right bigots seem to have more say than trans people. This might...Read full review »

I enjoy this podcast but can’t stand all the sport they now cover. I have no interest in it whatsoever.

I agree with long time listener and Illinois—way too difficult listening to EB as she is so argumentative and determined to win arguments. Not a space to listen to others. After listening to WH for a lifetime, I stopped when Jenny and Jane left. I just came across Nuala McGovern tho and so I will...Read full review »

Totally agree with Illinois homeowner. Emma Barnett just argues with everyone. I like a healthy debate but its hard to listen to. Love the replacements hosts.

Hi, I do love this show but find it quite frustrating that sometimes there are so many interesting guests and subjects and everything is crammed in. Isn’t it better to have fewer subjects and more time spent on them? There is way too much crammed into a show. Regards Harinder

What wasn’t asked and what I’d like to know re transgender issues is this, what is it that makes women, specifically, (because we don’t hear about men doing the same thing) feel so outraged that they are prepared to forgo their lifelong cherished leftist political leanings to join up with those...Read full review »

My mum used to listen to woman’s hour & so do I. At the moment I’m about 6 months behind trying to catch up on the podcasts after months of homeschooling & not being able to listen! I do miss hearing Jenny Murray’s voice. I enjoy the show, but often find they are too time centred, rushing...Read full review »

I think she is just great and have thought so for some time but was prompted to write a review after her interview with Nazanin Z R. It was the best interview I’ve heard for a long time. Long May Emma reign!

It’s taken me a long time to get back into WH since the departure of the wonderful Jane Garvey. I initially found Emma Barnett’s approach too adversarial and felt that she lacked the empathy necessary for WH. However I feel that with time Emma’s approach has softened and she has real empathy for...Read full review »

Emma’s interview with Maya Forstater was so poor. Whatever your views on an already highly polarised issue, this was not impartial by any means. It was rude, lazy, poorly researched and aggressive. I won’t be listening to WH again. Not sure women have any safe spaces anymore.

I love womens hour, the variety and topics you cover are fantastic. Really can’t listen to Emma though, hard hitting questions are one thing but she’s so bias and find her style so uncomfortable and hard to listen too!! Find myself turning off more and more

My fav podcast, I listen to WH everyday, as Emma is brilliant, she is the best interviewer around. She is so balanced, articulate, empathetic & powerful. I do enjoy listening to the new improved Womans Hour! Really interesting guests and I think Emma’s style is spot on! She has empathy but is also challenging! I love a strong interviewer who won’t accept people not answering the question but can Emma Barnett keep quiet for longer than 20 seconds and actually let respondents finish when they are answering

I live in Australia and often listen to Woman’s Hour in the evenings. It keeps me informed and updated on current issues impacting women, provides a range of political views and helps me feel connected to home.

Why are women being discriminated for having a family …every which way? Why should we be forced to go to work if we would like to choose to stay home and look after our own babies. Why , if we do choose to go to work, then be forced to pay so much for child care? Why are women made to feel bad if...Read full review »

The last year or so has not been good for Woman’s Hour. The departure of two experienced presenters combined with COVID restrictions means the show is no longer the pleasurable listen it used to be. I love hearing Anita’s laughter and light personal references at contributors comments and we even hear some from Emma. It definitely makes us ALL feel invested in the topics discussed.

I used to really enjoy woman’s hour, it’s lost it’s sparkle for me. Emma Barnett is a little to hostile an interviewer and looses the humanity somewhere. Of corse a lot of the topics tackled are serious but it’s like listening to a headmistress talk down to people, there’s no connection there.
babsupo via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/01/21
Maybe they should rebrand as inclusivity hour. It’s okay for women to be centered and for us to discuss things that do not include everyone.

I am so very, very disappointed that you choose to interview a man on what his perspective of his teenage years was like. He has absolutely no idea What it Feels Like for a Girl. He is promoting abuse/rape for teenage girls? Seriously? Such a misogynistic man. You have lost your minds BBC.
