Transformation Through Spiritual Fasting

Description
What did Jesus mean when he said "This kind only comes out with prayer and fasting"? This is Cheree We're going to talk about that and more on today's episode of Meditating The Word.   Different types of fasts: • Normal Fast – No food, water only.• Absolute Fast – Absolutely no food or water (Caution: Should not be undertaken over 3 days and only then if you have a clear directive from the Lord and are in good health).• Partial Fast – This could mean fasting certain meals of the day or abstaining from certain kinds of foods (i.e.: No meat or sweets, soup only, fruit and vegetables only, etc.).• Juice Fast – Fruit and vegetable juices only. How to fast:Start by setting your intention. Why are you fasting? Are you looking for direction? healing? restoration? Are you having financial difficulties? Start by writing down what you are fasting for.   Why fast:One of the most important things about fasting is this: You aren't fasting to move God. We don't fast to make God do something for us. We don't fast to "earn" something from God.  Fasting is more about putting ourselves in a position to receive.  If you have questions or comments, let me know. Over the next few weeks, we are going to look at examples of fasting in Scripture. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline and it comes with incredible benefits.  Now, for disclaimers and warnings...  Fasting may not be appropriate for everyone. And, there are side effects you need to be aware of. If you have diabetes or underlying health conditions, consult your doctor before fasting, especially for extended periods. Older adults, adolescents, underweight individuals, and those undergoing cancer treatment should also seek medical advice before fasting. If you decide to try fasting, stay well-hydrated and consume nutrient-dense foods during your eating periods to maximize potential benefits. Avoid fasting if you have a history of eating disorders or an unhealthy relationship with food.  Remember, fasting can be a powerful spiritual and health practice, but it should be approached with caution and wisdom. Thank you for joining me on Meditating The Word today. This is Cheree, reminding you that you are in my prayers. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.  Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing. ---- Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/richard-bodgers/earth-in-bloomLicense code: PKB2GOTPFQSZZFD7 Music from Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/sonder-house/dreaming-elliott-jacquesLicense code: 5HBP1CI7GED7IEQD
