“Hello Taymesan! My name is Hope. I love your podcast. I am currently studying stress mastery - learning about the human being and how to master stress - and listening to your podcast got me realizing that I have to correct something that is a typical mistake made on the podcast, which is speaking about low self esteem vs low self worth. This is a common mistake made by a lot of people but I would like to mention it just Incase anyone comes by it.
Self esteem is about taking pride in your achievements and accomplishments. It is found outside yourself. Most of the time the guests and host say that they have low self esteem, which is not true because their achievements alone show their high self-esteem
Self worth is the internal feeling you have about yourself, valuing yourself and having a deep awareness of who you are. Which is unfortunately what a lot of people have, and this includes successful people.
So, you can have high self-esteem (super successful, rich, business savvy, or even be an athlete) and have low self-worth (feeling unworthy of the things you have achieved).
Honestly most of the guests including you say they are dealing with “low self-esteem” but the truth is that they just have low self-worth (which can be changed)
If you want to know more about this aspect and also stress mastery. Kindly take a listen to ‘the stress mastery podcast: living right with Bill Cortright”
