Indispensable: First Review I’ve Ever Written
If I only had one tool to improve my Japanese listening and speaking, it would 100% be Teppei Sensei’s podcasts. You can WaniKani and Anki all day long and get a huge vocabulary, but that vocab will not cement until you hear it “in the wild” and in an understandable context. For this, there is nothing better than podcasts, and of the podcasts for Japanese learning there are none so entertaining or useful as Nihongo Con Teppei. If you haven’t tried this podcast, give it a try. I hardly understood it at all 8 months ago, but now I can absolutely follow nearly everything. Good stepping stones to Nihongo Con Teppei Z if you find it dishearteningly difficult are his beginner podcast and Let’s Talk in Japanese (Tomo Sensei) followed by Speak Japanese with Noriko (start from her early episodes of you are lower intermediate) Those podcasts are pure gold but Teppei’s work sticks out as the most down to earth, natural and enjoyable. Remember, everyone has ruts when they fee they aren’t getting it, just keep listening. Enjoy and good luck!
