I read The Moonstone many years ago so I know the ending- but that seems to make it even more enjoyable to listen to the twists and turns and recognise the clues dropped so skilfully by the author. I loved the ending of The Moonstone and I wonder whether Wilkie Collins was considered very advanced for his times to recognise that the rightful place for the moonstone diamond to end up at the close of the book was in India in the hands of the Hindu gods rather than sparkling in Rachel Verrunder’s décolletage!
