Winner for Best Improved Narrator
I listen to Slashfilm Daily’s Podcast and while I understand that Chris Evangelista is the Eeyore of the group (think grumpy, touchy, disagreeable) I have also heard him be just like a normal human being, laughing and being nice to his co-writers. I started listening to this podcast, expecting the natural way he speaks on the Slashfilm podcast and perhaps some gloom and doom and was surprised when he spoke. I know he wrote the synopsis that he is reading but all I heard was Ben Stein saying, “Bueller…Bueller….”. The most boring and flat delivery I’ve ever heard and weird coming from him. I was going to leave a 1 star review then but decided to wait, listen to him again, and then decide the rating. I’m glad I did. This episode of the podcast highlighting War of the Worlds and Munich really shows how much he has evolved from the first episode. Engaging, interesting and his natural charming personality comes through. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this one and will look forward to more in the coming weeks. P.S. Not sure what copy of War of the Worlds you had - in mine Tom Cruise and his son embrace in the street outside his former mother-in-laws house in Boston. He’s definitely an enigma wrapped in a puzzle, but now that he has found his voice, I await the next episode with great anticipation. Keep ‘em coming, Eeyore!

One of my favorite film writers has now made a podcast about the best director in film history. Y’all need to listen to this folks. Makes my day so much better when I see this in my feed. I hope Chris makes more of these kind of podcasts, maybe a Tarantino podcast? Like make many more dude.

The special guests are interesting and the show has led me to revisit films like War of the Worlds, which I had not watched since it first came out. Looking forward to hearing...Read full review »
