“March 4 episode. Preston’s approach came across demanding and a bit, well, arrogant. Totally heard where he was coming from, and don’t necessarily disagree. But to make the conversation about him and his demands just hit wrong. And I mean, it’s not like your “sister” doesn’t know how you feel. So it sounds like you making her jump through hoops for your sake. That’s not honoring her. I don’t know. Appreciate Jackie acknowledging the hard for her is probably mostly due to her past. So what if someone not with that story can attend in a way that navigates it somehow. It’s hard. It is. Question of our age… how do love people truly, while aligning with God’s best without “compromise?” What would Jesus do? Like, sincerely? Just can’t picture him having a convo demanding the person acknowledge his stance. Somehow, he would more lovingly and gently not go. Also, another option could be to not go to ceremony but go to reception. Anyway, it’s hard.”
