“Longtime fan of 3AW Breakfast and the station as a whole. Ross is legendary - intelligent, quick witted, talented storyteller, and an expert in the art of radio.
Russel however has terrible radio etiquette. He makes verbal responses constantly (yep, uh huh, right, I know, etc) over the top of whoever is speaking. He giggles too early at jokes to show he ‘gets’ it. Uses silly voices during live ad reads. And delivers condescending marketing lectures on a daily basis. Then there’s his awful habit of extending a laugh into a long sigh.
For the listener, this is infuriating - we often miss key information due to his interjections. He is trying too hard and it’s cringeworthy. Russ is talented in the advertising world but his skillset simply doesn’t translate to radio.
I’m disappointed to rate such a otherwise wonderful show so lowly.”
