Greatest Fights
Good evening Fellas, I have absolutely loved the greatest fights series! It’s been one of the highlights of lockdown. I saved the podcast for my weekly shopping trip and to be honest it has made shopping bearable. I thought the Sugar Ray Leonard vs Hearns podcast with Sugar Ray himself could be the best podcast I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. Listening to Sugar Ray talk with so much emotion and clarity was brilliant. That particular podcast inspired me to rewatch the fight and delve deeper into the ‘Four Kings’ and that amazing era of boxing. I would love to hear more from you guys about the ‘Four Kings’ in future pods. The anecdote I have taken away from that podcast was when Sugar Ray tried to get Duran, Hearns and Hagler together for some sort of tour to talk about that era and their fights. At the time, Sugar said that Duran and Hearns were up for it but simply couldn’t get hold of Hagler because he didn’t have a phone 😂. I found the insight into the Corrales vs Castillo with Joe Goossen absolutely brilliant. Seeing the fight through the eyes of a Goossen was fascinated and in places emotional. In the ‘Thrilla in Manila’ with Gene Kilroy, you referenced Joe Frazier’s trainer Eddie Futch. The stable of champions that were trained by or were under the tutelage of Futch was incredible; the likes of Joe Frazier, Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks and Riddick Bowe to name a few. My question for you, can you do a bit on trainers that have had a stable of fighters/champions that could match that of Eddie Futch. Keep up the great work fellas and I will keep listening along. Take care.

Great podcast to all involved! Thanks for your hard work on it. Could you set up a series shows going over candidates (and winners) for boxer of the decade going back to the '10s?Read full review »

Love listening to very informed correspondents. Great knowledge and love to hear the stories Bunce has in his locker. Costello is great to and his boxing back catalogue is extensive
