During your greatest fight series you both often referred to rounds in the fights as the one of the best in boxing history. Everytime I agreed. It got me thinking on the best round I’d seen live (not from the past on YouTube)
So I’d love to know Mike and Steve’s thoughts on where Round 3 of Joshua v Ruiz stands in the best ever. I’ve been watching boxing for 20 years and for me it’s up there. Everyone thought Joshua would coast to victory. He knocked Ruiz down early in round 3 but by end of round he was all but done for.
Given the fact AJ was huge favourite and unbeaten up to that point i think the drama matched most rounds you mention (the quality of the boxers and the consistency of round quality clearly not up to the fights you discuss though). I’d love to know what you think. Not a great fight but for drama that round is one of the most dramatic 3 mins I’ve seen!
