Clint was left alone in the 50 Campfires Studio for the day, and put together a pretty interesting Q&A show - with the most popular camping-related questions that people ask Google. Sure, som are philosophical, others are pretty straight forward - but regardless - it's a pretty interesting way to gain some insight on other campers around the country. Matthew Hofmann is an architect living in Southern California. After making a career for himself designing and building small living & working spaces, he started a company called Living Vehicle. This isn't a part-time mobile home. The Living Vehicles are designed to be full-time living spaces for up to 6 people. They're beautifully designed, and integrate not only indoor space - but bring the outdoors along for the journey as well. You could live off-grid for as long as your water...

On Monday, March 26 we invited musician Shane Secor into camp at Lake Griffin State Park in Florida to play a 50 Campfires : Campfire Session. It's always great to connect with local and national musicians as our paths cross - and this was no exception. Shane's music blurs the lines between country, folk and even punk rock. It was a pleasure having him in camp with us - and if you get the chance, you should check him out live in concert as he makes his way around the country. For more on...

Have you ever dreamed about designing the next great camping product? What about the brain behind a new climbing or hiking innovation? It could become a reality! We recently learned about a program in Outdoor Product Design and Development from Utah State University. In this episode of the Daily Outdoor, Nick and Clint had the chance to speak with Chase Anderson from the school - who gave us a little more insight into what this degree program is all about. If you're interested in learning...

50 Campfires had the privilege of speaking with Chris Havel, who's the Associate Director of Oregon State Parks, and has been for nearly 24 years. We wanted to know what was behind record setting years in their campgrounds - as well as some of his favorite spots to check out around the state. We were fortunate enough to spend some time camping around the state a few years ago, and had an amazing time in their parks. Stunning, beautiful and memorable. Enjoy!

We recently learned about a movie event outside of Austin, TX called JAWS On The Water. Basically, Rolling Roadshow sets up a huge movie screen on the edge of a lake - and projects the movie JAWS onto it. Even better? The audience is floating on inner tubes with their feet dangling. They've built in some additional surprises to the experience as well. We caught up with Henri Mazza, the VP of Events for Rolling Roadshow and Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas - who painted a pretty amazing picture of...

On this episode of the Daily Outdoor, Clint discusses a photo that's been floating around on the internet of a "sneaky" camping spot on the roof of a train station in San Francisco - and how it was discovered. Also, the Florida Interstate got a little drunker this week, as a truck hauling 60,000lbs of canned beer overturned - spilling it all over the highway. Do you have an extra $4,000 that you'd like to drop on a vacation? We've got just the trip for you - camping with reindeer herders in...

We're celebrating International Women's Day with a handful of women in the outdoors that inspire us. We talk about the first woman to hike the entire Appalachian Trail...the first woman to summit Mt. NASA put their best minds to work, and developed a lightweight, compact material that Prima loft took over - and worked into sleeping bags. While we haven't tried it, we thought the crossover between space and camping was pretty interesting. We also check out the new Diamond Grip from Yaktrax - perfect for anyone who needs to move across the frozen winter tundra... Lastly, why are we still using disposable drinking straws? They're filling our oceans with plastic, and there are so many great...

An artist in Minnesota has left a scary sculpture at the bottom of an old pit mine lake, appropriately named "Crystal Lake" of Friday the 13th bad guy Jason Voorhees. Also, we talk about the new Light Phone 2 and what Clint liked about the original Light Phone. Enjoy!

Nikolas Green is a young man with a YouTube channel. To celebrate his 70th follower, he decided to spend a night outside...camping for his first time...in a blizzard. Overnight, his videos received millions of views - not because he was an expert camper, but rather because he showed his authentic experience of camping for the first time. We also talk about the re-release of the Nokia 8110 cell phone that boasts a 17 day battery life. Maybe it's time to get rid of our smart phones and...

We recently came across an auction to spend a night at Camp Crystal Lake - the scene from the original Friday the 13th movies. Not only is it a real place, but for the right price - you can spend the night there on FRIDAY THE 13th!! The guys have mixed opinions on the topic. IN addition, they overview Glerups wool slippers and the new underwear brand BN3TH.

As most campers know, glass is a big no-no at the campsite. A single beer or wine bottle can cause havoc for kids, pets - and anyone who enjoys spending time barefoot outdoors. We recently got a shipment of The Drop - wine in a can, and we taste it for the first time. In addition, we talk about a few points from a recent article we published "10 Things Every American Should Know About Our National Parks." Enjoy!

One of our favorite camping meals is made by Maine-based Good To-Go. Backed by the skills of an Iron Chef-winning co-owner, these dehydrated meals are spicy, natural and delicious. Even better when we combine them with Outdoor Bill's 7-Layer, 7,000 calorie dutch oven brownies. Enjoy!

For as long as we can remember, Clint's been trying to convince Nick that zero drop shoes are where it's at. On this episode of the Daily Outdoor, Nick shows up wearing the newest Coalton shoes from barefoot shoe company Xero Shoes. Clint's reaction is priceless. Enjoy!

When Nick and Clint traveled to the Northeast in the summer of 2018, they had the fortune of connecting with a guy named Own Rachampell who worked for Darn Tough Socks. Owen's claim to fame? He had hiked the entire Appalachian Trail in just 4 months. We thought his story and personality were so interesting that we had to talk to him again. We hope you enjoy!
