It’s very rare to stumble across something as special as 80sography, but I’m glad that I did. The host is knowledgable, funny and has an obvious love of great music. It’s impressive how he gets to talk to so many 80’s icons, puts them at ease, and gets them to reveal so many secrets from the...Read full review »

I enjoy the interviews, but the sound quality on some of them is so bad they’re unlistenable.

As a music industry veteran and someone who has worked with many of the artists being discussed in this podcast through the decades, it was an excellent surprise to have "80sography" appear in my feed recently. I'm six episodes in and can't wait to explore the rest! Mark is a...Read full review »

Great content spoiled by the host mumbling and talking too fast plus too much music in the background when people are talking. Less is more!

Just look at the list of people interviewed and the length of the interviews and that should tell you how great this podcast is. Everything that you could every want to know is covered. I’ve listened to too many music production podcasts, most are crap, this one is the best. I hope it keeps going...Read full review »

There are a number of TFF interviews/documentaries that give only slight insights into all things TFF (Classic Albums - Songs From The Big Chair, etc.) Anyway, I was reading up on Ian (Wiki) and learned of Mancrab - Fish For Life. In the YouTube comments someone recommended this podcast - and...Read full review »

I love 80s music, but to be honest I think this podcast just gets music interviews and music discussion right regardless of the era. Some absolute gems here with producers opening up with some really candid stories about some classic albums. Highly recommended gem.

I’m always on the hunt for 80’s music content, the kind aimed at true believers who know the surface level stories. These deep dives are captivating.

I originally found Mark’s podcast by trying to find any interviews with the notoriously quiet Ian Stanley. From here I just worked my way backwards and forwards through all of the other episodes. This turned out to be my podcast of the summer! Mark is at his best when he uses his encyclopaedic...Read full review »

Yet another highly entertaining show. It’s hard to do actual work while listening to such an enjoyable podcast. Mark nails it every time with such wonderful research and truly inspiring guests.

Probably my favourite pod for the really deep dives on so many of my favourite 80s bands. Getting the Engineer’s and producer’s perspective has made me rediscover so many classic albums by listening with a fresh perspective. A must listen!

I don’t know why I used this title. First iTunes review in years. This is great, he’s not afraid to ask the questions you’re thinking of asking yourself. Viva la 80s. Keep on keeping on. I don’t know what that means, either.

Growing up in the 80s was a musical revelation. It had everything and I am always quietly pleased that the decade was much maligned in the following decades. It is nigh on 40 years on that the gems of that decade are being re-evalued. 80sography is undoubtedly my podcast find since the pandemic...Read full review »

Being a big admirer of both Elton and TFF I was excited to listen to this podcast, unfortunately, the scattergun attempt at humour (WHY?!) coupled with the hosts almost inaudible at times commentary fails miserably. Excellent interviews with some of the guys and girl involved with making early TFF albums. The author/editor’s attempts at “humor” are so appallingly bad, they should be ashamed. And, sadly, there’s a lot of it. I couldn’t get past the first TFF episode.

Ugh.... I’ve tried three episodes of this podcast, and it’s just a nightmare to get through. It’s RAMMED with jarringly idiotic puns, wacky clips and childish humour. And not in a good way.

Covering some of the albums I particularly love and offering a valuable insight into how that work came about. Great access to some of the knob-twiddlers on some of those albums we've had for years. I downloaded and binge-listened to the first “Season” - the 80s albums of Elton John - and have gotta say that I love this Podcast SO much! Where do I even begin? This is one of the funnest podcasts I’ve heard in a long while. Mark (and co.) does a fantastic job of deconstructing the 80s classics with a refreshing and very entertaining sense of tongue in cheek. I tried to listen while multitasking, but found this podcast too interesting to be granted only part of my attention. Very entertaining!
