Description
In today's episode, Jillian discusses the difference between eating disorders and disordered eating. Eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa, are formal diagnoses with specific criteria in the DSM-IV. If someone does not have a formal diagnosis, that does not mean their eating disorder is any less valid or real.   So what is disordered eating? It may be distorted body image or poor self-esteem, or presence of food rules or skipping meals. If this is sounding a lot like dieting - you are absolutely right. Dieting can be a form of disordered eating. ► To learn more about the differences between eating disorders and disordered eating, head over to our blog at https://changecreateschange.com/disordered-eating-vs-eating-disorders-whats-the-difference/
