Along with co-author Olivia Wylie, they write under the pen name O.E. Tearmann. They discuss the origins of their pen name, the inspiration behind the series, and the importance of representation in their books. E.S. shares their own experiences with mental health and how writing the series has been therapeutic for them. They also talk about the future of the series and their plans for a quartet of young adult novels.
