Absolutely Love This!
This is not the *definitive* history of rock, and it cannot be. As Hickey himself says, this *A* history, not *the* history. I could imagine many different ways of telling this story that could be equally valid. With different perspectives and different angles, you could take the same songs and artists and tell a compelling and enlightening history. But I would absolutely call this an essential history. It blows up a lot of myths about rock that get repeated over and over again. And - if you’re like me - it will help you appreciate rock and music in general so much more, even beyond the specific artists covered. My perspective on music has been dramatically shifted by it.

I learn so much from every episode. The host knows his music, the times, the people, and how to tell the story. Full of snippets of the tunes. I look forward to every episode.
