A History of Rock Music in 500 songs
In a word ‘exhaustive’. Andrew says, crucially, It’s A History, not THE History. He starts in the 1920’s and debunks all the usual, well repeated myths. More talk than music, but well curated, intelligent and looks at rock music from the racial social and economic perspective. To that end it’s a revelation, I’ve learnt so much from this podcast, and I can’t ever unlearn how exploitative ‘the music business’ has been to the creators of this genre. Start at the beginning, though. It’s worth it. Then tell someone else. It’s that good.
