Must-Hear Australiana
Trepidatious at what, at first, I imagined might some poor aged guest subjected to the wince-inducing squealed opinions of two old queens, I was very quickly impressed with the thoughtful structuring of each episode (they never out stay their welcome with too much waffle), the knowledge of both hosts (true ‘subject matter experts’ – in some interviews, they are quickly able to recall the names of older projects and colleagues that even the guests themselves have forgotten!), the generally positive of each show (many of the artist’s tales are, in total, grim, but the listener is never left with a feeling of defeatism, and questions the guests seem to genuinely enjoy approaching. Excellent work. My only ask is I wish you might have an accompanying website, similar to IMDB for movies, in which the revelations uncovered in the series are codified. (Example, I looked for years to discover who provided the female vocals for Real Life’s ‘Send Me An Angel’ to no avail, until the relevant episode of this series.) Recommend to anyone with even a passing interesting in Aussie pop and general entertainment history in general.

I really enjoyed the first episode! Aussie pop deserves so much more attention. I’m not interested in hearing about pub rock, we’ve heard more then enough. Bring on the fun! Well done Gavin and Robbie.

Amazing background on the 80s / 90s pop music scene. Informative, and really fun.
