Celebration
Hosts Gavin and Matthew’s affection for the music of Stock, Aitken and Waterman is as infectious as the music itself. This is a loving earnest and forensically detailed look back at SAW, from the near misses and misfires to the huge hits that for many became the soundtrack of a generation. Meticulously researched, the show intersperses the track-by-track thoughts of Gavin and Matthew with the recollections of producers and engineers, artists, video directors, and backing singers. It’s a wonderful celebration of music that many critics at the time dismissed as disposable — but that still holds up today.
