Can we be friends, Dana?
Who would’ve thought that a structured decluttering and house-management process and the mantra “progress not perfection” would have such a positive and profound impact, not only in my home but also in my daily life. Growing up, I was never taught HOW to keep things tidy. I was nagged and criticized until I stuffed everything into my bedroom closet. As a perfectionistic adult who has now accumulated too much stuff, Dana’s realistic and nonjudgmental system has allowed my home to make actual progress, little by little. We still have a long way to go, but I now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Getting rid of things feels a lot less painful, sometimes even fun! I am not blowing smoke here, if you can’t seem to figure out how to get your house in order, consider listening to this podcast and read or listen to her book Organizing for the Rest of Us. (I can’t listen to most audiobooks, but Dana’s voice and writing are so engaging!)
