Today we're doing a travel show to help you better prepare your trip if you're planning on traveling. The heaviest Thanksgiving traffic is expected to be on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, typically around 4-6 PM. There will also be a national traffic peak on Wednesday afternoon. If you're traveling on Thanksgiving Day, the busiest times will be between 11 - 3 PM. You may want to travel in the morning, or after 6 PM to avoid traffic. The BEST times to travel is after 8 PM on Monday. Wednesday after 8 AM or 8 AM is also a light traffic time. Finally, Thanksgiving Day you can avoid heavy traffic before 11 AM. The earlier you travel, the better off you may be. The worst traffic will be in New York, Washington, D.C., LA, Atlanta, and Boston.
