Brunei's official main language is Malay but English is also widely spoken. The current population of Brunei is 440,707, based on projections of the latest United Nations data. Islam is Brunei's official religion, and 67 percent of the population is Muslim. The culture and laws in the country are heavily influenced by Islam.
