Description
Weather and cars do not get along. Each year, about 21% of car crashes in the United States involve adverse weather conditions, resulting in thousands of injuries and deaths. We can't prevent bad weather, but new technology is being developed to keep drivers safer. Dr. Scott Mackaro, the head of Insights and Innovation for Vaisala Xweather, joins the podcast this week to talk about road weather data. Why is it so difficult for drivers to receive accurate information on road conditions? What can be done to make it more easily accessible? The team also looks ahead to the future and discusses how self-driving cars could be the ultimate key to minimizing weather-related crashes and when that day may come.We want to hear from you!
