Actually, it could be great.
First, one of the hosts wrote 5/5 review for their pod which if it isn’t done ironically is in poor taste. At least don’t use your Twitter handle as your reviewer name... Second, the “it’s good” conceit is much needed. In a theology podcast market is flooded with basement tier podcasts by grad students who really should be focused on studying, grifters, and radtrad/Orthobro/SuperProt apologists, this pod is a welcome breath of fresh air. The hosts are funny and have had highly informative discussions. In fact, it felt like sitting in a graduate seminar but in a good way. I would say that they are up there with On Script in terms of content but not production quality. Two things that would make this 5/5. 1.) Make sure everyone has a good mic. It is hard to understand some of you. A good USB mic is not expensive and I’m sure you could get some $ on Patreon or whatever if you don’t have an extra $20. 2.) Introduce yourselves at the start of each episode! It’s hard to tell who is talking without having introductions to help orient the listeners especially since most of us don’t know you IRL. If these two things get fixed in the future, I’ll revise to a 5/5.

That said, my interest in ameliorating that deficit in myself, as well as the hosts’ humor and the brilliance of both the hosts and guests makes it an enjoyable listen regardless. I would,...Read full review »
