Under banked , low income Africans are an unattractive customer segment to many businesses. Babajide Dorushole, country manager of M-Kopa Nigeria, tells us how the company has innovated to profitably serve this segment through innovative credit solutions. By making Finance for everyday essentials accessible to everyone, they have served over 3m customers and unlocked over $1b in credit for these customers enabling them to own basics solar devices and appliances like smart cellphones, TVs, fridges and lamps. They recently received a $250m debt investment to scale their business, making it one of the biggest such investments in any African tech company.
