Not okay
I enjoy good dystopian stories. I understand that illustrating how disaster brings out the worst in some usually includes a bit of racism. But the overt bigotry was brought in like a sledgehammer. Not only does it become a turn-off for the characters, but it makes the entire show repulsive. And, no. It doesn’t matter what color the bigotry is. It simply wasn’t handled well in this show. Piled on top of the anti-military sentiment and the unrealistic reactions of the main characters, I’m done trying to be okay with a poorly done story - regardless of the names involved.
