Lost a star around 2000 or so....
Generally a great informative listen. As a US History buff I learned several new and interesting things. The reader did a great job in his explanations and seemed generally enthusiastic in doing so. I thought the information was reasonably objective but perhaps missed a few key points(way too little on Polk, no mention of the Panic of 1837 costing Van Buren, etc). I have two primary critiques. The first is the predictable playin that “The South” is the source of all things racist. This view I find consistently to be a rather ignorant one shared by perhaps most historians. New York was a major slave center. Many Northeners owned slaves. Even today, segregation persists in northern cities with white flight to the suburbs. The South can’t shake the unfair reputation as being “the epicenter of racism” due to of course antebellum days( now over 150 years gone) and the fact that the heaviest concentration of blacks remain in the South. The reader’s go to seemed to be a subtle diss of the South any time racism came up. I will applaud the reader for correctly identifying Chicago as more racist than the South as perceived by MLK. My other critique is when the reader voluntarily shed any objectivity with his confession that he supported Gore and campaigned for Obama. His choices of whom to support doesn’t bother me. It is the fact that when recent history is discussed it’s hard to get a true objective look. You could start to pick up on his liberal slant around LBJ and even more so with his subtle shots at Reagan. Despite this I thought he reasonably tried to stay fair until his obvious over praise of Obama and his digression to an all out whine session about Trump. He criticized division but played into by indirectly insulting the 63 million Americans that voted for Trump. At the end of the day I enjoyed the podcast. Thanks for making them.

More reviews of All The Presidents, Man
I only gave it one star because I couldn’t rate Zero Stars. What a biased unfair assessment of many of our Presidents. Even if you disregard many of the obvious factual errors, his suggested conspiracy theories, surmised “real”motives behind many presidential decisions and one-sided telling of...Read full review »
