Is it deliberate misunderstanding or just a blind spot
I was looking for another l word podcast to follow and unfortunately I will have to pass on this one. The two hosts cannot understand who Bette is as a character in part because they fail to comprehend how her being biracial and her having been raised by her black father impacts her. This lack of understanding is particularly evident in the episode about Melvin. An hour long episode dedicated to who Bette is and her race is not mentioned as /central/ to her character. That is frankly absurd

I watched when the original was airing. I love this podcast because I can see things from a different perspective from the second generation of fans. Great work ladies. You’re doing an excellent job.

A wonderful look at our favorite couple with fascinating insights and perspectives on what has contributed to making them who they are! I love that you also connect the original series with moments in Gen Q and point out the growth and character development along the way.
