“There are absolutely no rules in the influencing game. It’s the Wild West of the internet. And it’s doing real harm in the world. I firmly believe that it’s causes people to walk away from the medical community bc some influencer with a million followers , told them that they take these five supplements and it cured their cancer (Metaphorically speaking ). This is so dangerous! And when anyone calls them out on their behavior - (kindly and directly ) it’s referred to as hate and they are blocked and deleted - therefore the accounts look like a giant echo chamber of support and encouragement for false/misleading information.
I could go on- but Allegedly- does it for you. They call influencers out for their problematic and dangerous behavior! They are the whistle blowers and indie journalists that social media desperately needs! And they are hysterical, and authentic! I stumbled on this pod cast bc of Beachbody . I was a coach for two years and they do encourage eating disordered behavior (as a recovering anorexic- I told my upline this and she continued to push me to buy all their diet plans and said everyone can stand to drop a few ) - and they encourage people to target vulnerable sahm . Thanks allegedly !!”
