Traumatic, lacks empathy
The constant warnin, for episode one mentioned descriptions of violence. This is not an accurate description of audio of a young black man with disabilities being murdered by police. Amidst the high adrenaline tone and copious ads, you decided that this audio would fit right in somehow. As a parent of a neurodivergent adult child, the voice I unexpectedly heard begging to he allowed to breathe and pleading to be be understood despite being different sounded like the voice of my child. In this way, your podcast has amplified the sounds of dehumanization. This is its own kind of violence. I urge you to dig deeper and find a more respectful and less traumatizing way to capture that part of an important story. Or, provide a more accurate content description, like: this episode contains the sounds of someone being murdered. Listen if you’re ok with that.
