Host: Dr. Wendy Marie Ingram, PhD, Psychiatric Epidemiology Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health Guest Interview: Dr. Hongfang Liu, PhD, Consultant, Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics, Department of Health Sciences Research, Chair, Division of Digital Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences Research, Professor, Biomedical Informatics Dr. Hongfang Liu's in informatics has resulted in informatics systems that unlock clinical information stored in clinical narratives. Her work accelerates the pace of knowledge discovery, implementation and delivery for improved health care. Dr. Liu's primary research is to facilitate the secondary use of clinical data for clinical and translational science research and health care delivery improvement using data science, artificial intelligence and informatics approaches. Dr. Liu's research has been extensively funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health (NIH) since 2003. Dr. Liu is a member of several professional societies, including the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB).
