“I followed this podcast from the Athletic and found myself questioning why I was listening to this podcast today. Granted, I loved the show when Andy was at the Athletic with Ari Wasserman. It’s a bit SEC-centric (given Andy’s alma mater, go figure), meanders a bit with only focusing on headline topics with no real depth. I understand what Andy’s attempting with some of the interviews, but they fall flat. I find myself skipping forward hoping the next topic is a home hitter. It doesn’t help that Andy and his cohost aren’t gelling just yet.
Alas, at the end of the day I think Ari Wasserman was what made the show great with hot takes and interesting stories. I don’t get any substance out if this pod that I can’t get on more entertaining pods like Cover 3 or The Audible or even Late Kick.”
