“If Rob Thompson wants Kyle Schwarber to bat lead off, fine, but we can agree if you go with an unorthodox choice to lead off—with such a low batting average etc., we all know the situation—then you have to have a really solid #2 hitter. It’s always important to have a solid #2 hitter, but especially so with Schwarber leading off. Right now, Turner is anything but solid. He’s jello, at best. I just don’t get, “we are paying him a lot, so we will ignore poor performance.” What?!?! The more they are paid, the higher the performance we should expect!”
