Very Interesting!
Admittedly, after listening to 15 minutes of this I left a very negative review. I decided to give it a second chance and have decided I was incredibly wrong. As a younger female Beatles fan I often feel almost victimized by the “baby boomer” crew at concerts, events etc (almost to the point of verbal abuse because we stand up and dance… not kidding). We were kicked out of a Ringo Starr concert in VEGAS for standing up and dancing and blocking the people’s view behind us - lol. How fun! I’m always looking for mindsets that are younger and more modern. It is surprising how little discussion of the Beatles there is out there that doesn’t come from middle aged men over 60. And honestly, even though I’m probably one of the biggest Beatles fan out there (I mean, I’ve been to Liverpool 12 times), I am typically ignored or blown off as not having any real knowledge of the group. The typical “you weren’t there, you couldn’t understand response.” This podcast is so refreshing because I feel like they talk about the Beatles the way I do with my friends. It’s funny and edgy. I only wish I would have thought of it! :)

The hosts really do present another kind of mind and in doing so unlock most of the mystery that surrounds the Beatles breakup. But...yikes, the visceral anger towards the John “narrative” and staunch defense of Paul are not an easy listen at times.

One of the podcasts central premises is that Paul is often belittled and John uncritically idealized. And while I like to believe that narrative had begun to unravel the last decade or so, it doesn’t matter. Three smart and knowledgeable people who bring a genuinely fresh and thigh thoughtful...Read full review »
